Gas costs
« on: August 10, 2005, 09:55:34 pm »
A growing problem in this world is the cost of gasoline. The raise of gas prices is affecting people in more ways than one. Not only does it cost more to drive your car, but it also costs more to get delivery service. Costs more to send mail, garbage pick up costs more, bus fares cost more, food costs more, airline tickets cost more, computers cost more, EVERYTHING costs more because of rasing gas prices. What do you think should be done to combat this? Drill for more oil? Or maybe find alternitve engery sources and find ways to utlize them? Post your opinions.

In order to make it through the world one needs some insanity.

I mean, you cannot really complain about gas prices in the US, considering the prices in Europe are like 3 times that. It's our own fault for the prices....so i dunno...find another engery source maybe? But then all cars would have to convert and it would be too much of a hassle.

Solar energy. It would probably work.
Mr. Krabs: Do you smell it..that smell...a kind of smelly smell...a smelly smell that smells smelly. Anchovies.
Squidward: What?
Mr. Krabs: ANCHOVIES!
Anchovies: MEEP, MEEP, MEEP.

I probably won't be on here too much being in college and all. I will try to pop on every once in a while though to share my thoughts.

Just last week it was $2.02 over here and now it's $2.21! When I work over at the gas station for a little bit, people are complaining left and right about gas prices going up and not stopping.

I believe that the gas will go back down but it'll happen when everyone is back in school in the US.

Darn straight. Let's jack the prices way up on the food for Arabic countries, then maybe they'll sell us gas for cheaper.

We can also drill the tundra.

They had better not drill in teh tundra that's the last untouched section of land left in the world almost. If they destory it nothing will be a true wilderness. They should try new fuels like 100% ethonal which is from corn, it's made in America, and it helps are farmers. They should also look into hydrogen fuel, it's clean, cheap, reuseable, and it's only output is water.

In order to make it through the world one needs some insanity.

Would these new fuels run any car on the streets today?  Or would everyone have to buy a new car in order to use those fuels?

From what I understand, it would take 10 years to get enough oil to fuel the USA for 5 months.

What I think we should do is stop using gas, and switch to hydrogen, or biodiesel, or stop using ggcars like, suv's, pickups, and use cars with high gas milage. Or learn to fly xP. But if we are still to use ggcars, we should use biodiesel or hydrogen
There is no such thing as peace and there never will be. Peace is a delusion believed by the weak. Gandhi said : "An eye of an eye would leave the whole world blind". So be it because only a blind world can experience the peace that it deserves. But there in lay the sick irony. Who will be able to see this peace? The human species is at war. The enemy walks among us nearly invisible. Only those with true discernment can see them. But only one with discernment and vision can show them to others

Go to the Philippines, you see Liters not Gallons. And besides, someone in the philipines invented water as a source of gas which unfortunately, had not been popular.

Or something like this
2000 - $0.37
2005 - $3.59

If people used public transportation people wouldn't be so mad about gas prices. I'd use it if Cincinnati had good public tranportation. But all we got is smelly old busses that are always late. So I'm stuck paying $2.70 a gallon. And prices won't go down untill after Labor Day.

In order to make it through the world one needs some insanity.
