Limewire Help please and thanks
« on: May 08, 2006, 12:35:38 pm »
Okay, my Limewire seems to be on steroids. Every hour or something, it seems to think Ive downloaded 100 songs. Right now, it thinks I have 4,263 songs. I have about 500 songs. So what are my choices? Uninstall and reinstall? Thanks in advance...

Just be sure to move all of your music before you uninstall it.

and...ummm....limewire is the buggiest piece of crap that I've ever used for XP Pro. It amazes me with it's dissapearing text and buttons.

Is there any way to move music into a folder, then put it into some other thing (like Bearshare)?

Okay, then what do you recommend I download if Bearshare's dead?
Something that doesnt take up that much space?
And, my Limewire thinks I have 5,343 songs -_-'

Yeah... I don't use Limewire because it requires you to share the songs you download... I use Soulseek because you don't have to share anything to download music

You can turn off sharing in Limewire.  I did a long time ago.

Are you sure? The last time I remember trying to use it it would figure out a way to make me share the downloaded files regardless.

Well, I'll probably ask a few people on some other sites to pick, but whatever. I have a new problem...

Since deleting it, a pop-up comes up alot. Here's what it says

"Limewire Launcher Error

Limewire was unable to run Java Runtime, please download it..."

And since my computer has spyware, I have no memory so I cant download anything. Suggestions?
Oh, and dont help me with spyware. Computers hate me, so I need an expert to come here and fix it (who is also my half brother)

Why should I have to search for a good torrent when Limewire can get me a good file much quicker?

Yes you can turn it off.

Tools, options, then you'll see this under the sharing tab:
