I've a great knack for writing poems, and this one sprung to mind only last night. So... here it is!
I dedicate this one to ilovespongebob, whom this poem is about, with love.
Please note: This poem is based on personal experience.

First Kiss
There are a million ways
to describe a
first kiss.
William Shakespeare said,
“I understand thy kisses, and thou mine,
And that's a feeling disputation.”
Jonathan Swift wondered,
“Lord!
I wonder what fool it was
that first invented kissing.”
N Sync sung,
“I never thought that
love could feel like this
then you changed my world
with just one kiss.”
Even the famed Mistinguett mused,
“A kiss can be a comma,
a question mark
or an exclamation point.”
But,
at the end of the day,
despite all their pithy
quotations on the subject,
words can’t portray
the full extent of first kisses.
There are no words to describe
the rush of emotion you get
as four lips become two;
the tingling you get down there
as a tongue quickly rushes in,
trying to fill the space
of currently empty mouths;
and especially
the brief contentment,
satisfaction, almost,
of knowing that for once
in your long life,
just this once,
you love
and are loved back.
Yes, you fear it beforehand.
Your mouth clams up;
your palms sweat;
your eyes seem unfocused;
you can’t seem to find the words
to express what you want
more than anything right now
(a kiss),
and when you do,
they get clogged up in your throat,
and you can’t speak.
But as you slowly approach
the recipient of your gift,
eyes closing,
lips pursed;
the passion you put
into this first kiss,
your first kiss,
speaks for itself.
In first kisses,
you are free to do as you will.
Rules are repeatedly broken,
guidelines are ignored,
inhibition is stamped on,
caution is rolled into a ball
and thrown out the window.
There are no bad kisses,
every kiss is unique
in its own way.
For a few brief seconds,
a few brief minutes,
however long it takes;
you are no longer a single person
with another single person
in a whole ecosystem
of single persons.
You are, instead,
two people as one
against the world.
And the world is losing.
This is how I feel
as I kiss you, ILS;
harder and harder,
again and again,
two mouths repeatedly
becoming one.
Except…
except I never thought
a first kiss
could feel this amazing;
this brilliant;
this incredible.
I could never dream,
even in my wildest
imagination,
the raw passionate
thrill
that comes from
sharing with you
my very
first
kiss.
