There are actually quite a few new and different things each year, but yeah, the whole concept is basically the same.  What they should allow you to do is upgrade instead of buying.  For example, if you have 2004, 2005 should only be $20 instead of $50.  Just a thought...

Yes, which is why the ESPN sports games are going to pwn the EA sports. They're charging $20 for a new game, over the $50 EA does.
