Game one, advantage Twins.

Defense was the reason we won, and more specifically, Torii Hunter saved the game for us.  He threw out a runner at the plate in the 2nd, and robbed A-Rod of a homer in the 8th.  And while Santana wasn't lights out like has been so many times this year, he was uber clutch, always getting the batter out when he needed to.

It's still early in the series, but it's nice to get the first win in the series.

Santana got lucky that Minnesota's defense was outstanding, including the 5 double plays your forgot to mention :P
I'm just happy the Yankees lost XD GO TWINS!

w00t!!!! GO CARDS! My aunt is at the game now. I am such a huge Cards fan. They have been amazing this year. Busch Stadium is such a friendly place to be. When the Cards get to the World Series, I'm going and I will be in the Diamond Box sipping my Diamond Box Soda. YaY!

I have a Great Aunt that lives in St Louis and she sends us Cardinals stuff all of the time, they're my second favorite team behind the Reds :) Ive been to Busch a few times and saw McGwire hit a homer in one of them :D I still have newspaper clippings and memorabila from when he broke the record

In case if you didn't know, the first round of the MLB postseason is a best-of-five series.  And for the AL/NL Championship Series and World Series, it becomes a best-of-seven series.

(sigh) Shouldn't have lost that game.  You can't let Nathan pitch the 12th after pitching the 10th and 11th, he threw 40 some pitches in the first two innings and was showing obvious signs of fatigue in the 11th (even I saw that).

So, so close to heading to Minneapolis up 2-0. (sigh) Well, hopefully the Twins don't lose ALL the momentum thanks to the outcome of this game, because we can definitely hang with this Yankee team.  Just need a good outing from Carlos Silva Friday and just like that we're in great shape in closing out the series at home.

(sigh) You ever get that feeling that absolutely nothing can go right for you?  That's exactly how the Twins must feel right now.  This is thoroughly depressing.

On a different note, great game in Boston earlier today.
