I watched this earlier this morning..... stupid, strange, and pointless would all be very apt descriptions for this show.  Why the heck do they break out into song for no apparent reason at points during the show?

Of course, it's so energetic that kids will probably eat this show up.

It seems that I'm seeing a lot of flack associated with Lazy Town. First off let me say that it is not a show that I would voluntarily watch, however my kids enjoy it and as a result they are interacting with the show. The theme is "go out and play" however in many areas of the country this is not possible due to weather problems. It is simply not possible for my toddlers to go out in sub zero temps to play. I would rather my one year old and my three year old to attempt to dance and burn off some of thier energy excercising than beating on each other. they really enjoy dancing when the songs start up... It is also prefereable to having them stare blankly at a screen and drooling during Barney or Blues Clues. We live in an area of the country that does not allow us out into the fresh air during the winter, certainly not when the air temp is below freezing. What else should I do but try and keep them occupied indoors? The show may well be wierd and strange, but it is not violent and keeps the toddlers attention. Plus it gets them interacting rather than staring blankly at a TV screen. There is nothing sadder than a toddler watching a show "designed" for them and needing bibs to catch the drool as they get mesmerized by the show.
