i prettymuch tought myself how to use photoshop, its a dead easy programme once you grasp the basics, and the basics are all i use, most of it is common sense, im sure if you search on google or something, you'd find some tutorials somewhere. Or just mess about with the programme till you get familiar with what the buttons and stuff do. . like i did

I know how to use photoshop but did you just use the paintbrush tool?

yeah pretty much, i used the magic selector thingy, and used layers and stuff too, but all the colour was with the paintbrush.

When I try to curve with the paintbrush, it just comes up with lots of corners sticking out :(

if you hold shift down with the paintbrush selected after clicking on your starting point of where your painting, it makes a stright line to wherever you click next, if you know this, and your having problems still with angular bits, then just try to make the point where you click closer together, and try to make them apear smoother if your going around a corner.
