If you look the raise in Lung Cancer deaths has raisen acording to the smoking rates. And I also can't stand the smell. I hate that awful smell. I also think smoking makes someone very unatractive. I'm sorry but I wouldn't want to kiss a mouth with smokers breath.

Luckily for me though, i cant smell, so i cant complain on how it smells, but in general, i think its just discusting.

the middle section of your nose which devides it is too long for me, so it is in an S shape pushing against both sides of my nose, you'd never tell cuz my nose has a normal shape, it just doesnt work because its blocked 24/7, so ive never been able to smell. ive had 2 operations on it,and neither worked!!

In some ways its crappy cuz i cant smell nice smells, but its great in others such as not smelling smoking, or farts!!

Aww man that's not cool. So you can't ever tell if you smell bad...do people tell you if you smell bad? I know if that happened to me...I'd want people to tell me what I smelled like so I could fix it or something...

My dad used to smoke and he quit, becasue he wanted to, after smoking too much one night. And my grandma had to quit smoking because her doctor told her she might not live that much longer if she contunines to smoke.

You just get bad breath, teeth, etc. I've seen too many people die from cancer from smoking and im not about to start. Being from Kentucky, a big supplier of Tobacco, I think all Tobacco products should be treated as illegal drugs because they do absolutely no good.

just smoking socialy and things still kills off the little cells that pull mucus up from your lungs, and still infects the lipid layers around your cells and makes it more difficult for oxygen to be transported aroud the body. and carbon monoxide still makes cells unable to processs energy.
there should be high tax on fatty foods as well, people think that it is really expensive to eat, if not ultra healthy, jsut healthier than takeaways. i can spend nearly $30 on lunch for my family at wendys, or around 7 if i wanna make a tuna/ rice meal.

but yes, you do have a point msp, you cant force people not to smoke, its a personal choice, but htat said you cant force people not to drink/ do drugs or have sex, either.

smoking is disgusting. when i was younger my biological father smoked in front of me all the time. i had nomoanya(however u spel it) and i almost died, and he didnt give a krabby patty if anything happened to me. he was a drug attic, smoker,alchoholic, and he stole from my moms work. he stole from everywhere. as you can imagine, i had no childhood whatso ever. my stepdad tries to purposely make my life a living he11, so i had no child hood and my life sux. lol. anyways, sorry fr babbling on

Most reaturants here don't even have smoking sections anyway besides bars, nothing to bother my nose while I'm enjoying a good dining expieience anymore :biggrin: !

You got to remember 50 years ago people didn't even know it was bad for you to smoke. The tobacco companys knew it was bad for you. But kept it a secret, becaue they didn't want to lose their money.

yep, started at 10. i was the "bad gir" of all my firends. i wasnt chainsmoking till i was 15 tho, before then i was just being a poser :biggrin:

SARAH!! you could come live here, get a visa and come work in our smokefree bars for a holiday :happy:

they are thinking about doing hte whole smokefree indoors thing in ireland, but seeing as some huge percent (i forget how much, but over 1/2 i think) smoke, its probably not gonna go through.

and nz might be making it illigal to smoke indoors at any function, including private parties on private property. which is jsut stupid :angry:

but i was talking to a nurse, who is also a uni lecturer, and she said that she really isnt that into the whole "live well and line long" thing
she has nursed people who are dying horrific deaths, and they have been as healthy as healthy can be, and some people dirnk/ smoke/ eat to much etc, and are fit as a fiddle into their 90's

From what I understand, they raised ciggarette prices for that reason, and becuase it's in less demand now too.

i have known old ladies who are over 90 and have smoked for 70 years, and their fine, thier voices are normally insanly croaky and there skin in ultra wrinkly, but the arent sick.

My Grandma and Grandpa both have only quit within the last 10 years and they're both 76. My friends grandma is 83 and still smokes, the whole house stinks like smoke when I go over there :angry:

if not, they used to sell packs of ten ciggies, and when they tested them, they found that there was MORE niccotine in a pack of ten than a pack of TWENTY FIVE!!
they were sticking more in so that kids, who were the main buyers of ten packs, would get more addicted.
get them while theyre young.

and marlboro have tiny shards of fibreglass int hem, so that when you smoke, the fibre peirce your lungs and allow more nicotine in. so, they can have the same amount of nicotine as antoher brand , buthtey give you mor of a hit.
perfectly legal, just gross.

True, but a lot of hipster teens are too stupid to pay attention to that, they just want to look more like adults or there favorite musicians (the reason all those teens in the 60's got high was because all the psycedelic bands did it, not because they knew it would be bad for them), there are just some stupid people in this world. That explains everything.

thing that made me super mad about it=turns out im SUPER allergic to cigarette smoke. it makes my throat close up and i stop breathing right. i get massive headaches and earaches too.

If you REALLY want to be cool, don't smoke.

The other part for me is not only the life length but someone who somkes gets out of breath easier than a non smoker. Plus I wouldn't want to kiss a smokers mouth, smokers breath is bad enough.

I held my nose, and quite frankly I wouldn't mind if she did see me. To top it all off she was a few yards away from a propane thing that said right on it "No Smoking". But the store clerks don't pay much attention to it either, they smoke nearby it on their lunchbreaks. It's dispicable. (SP?)

That will let smoke everywhere.

I know kids in my school who have been smoking, using crack, heroine, and alcohol, and one kid actually left his stash out for his parents to find. They kicked him out of the house. He was homeless for two months. Now he claims to be schizophrenic (sp?). Everyone in my class except for me has used those things at least once. That's why we have to use air freshener so much it forces me to go home.
