Title: Global Warming -Who's to blame?
Post by: Thomas on November 05, 2006, 03:20:11 am
There has been a massive debate over the recent situation of GW, it's been one country blaming the other after only recently understanding that the effects of GW are in fact speeding up and becomming a major problem.
Around 15% of all the worlds countries blame the USA alone for the damage, where as many others think it's the entire global populations fault.

Before I add my view, first I would like to say 'I told you this would happen'.
Now...my view is that it IS the fault of the entire world economy, but the USA needs to start working on their CO2 immissions.
That fire in California could have been started by someone, but ever thought that it may be TOO DRY to begin with due to climate change?
It was fairly warm one day here in the UK....then suddenly it gets FREEZING COLD the next day.
This weather pattern is messed up, I watch the weather and El Nino patterns and have done for the past 2 years.
May not seem like a long time, but even in that short 2 year-span I have noticed how the southern hemisphere has been gaining more rain...wind strengths have DOUBLED in the last few years for area's around the equator...and the northern hemisphere has been LOOSING rain.
This has been the driest year for the UK in my opinion...and I beleive it is no different over in the USA.

In short, I blame everyone...but I still think the USA has some things to explain about.

First off, I totally agree with you.

Everyone is to blame, not just the USA. Japan, Toykeo, and Hong Kong are major cities as well with polution, just as bad as New York maybe. Now I think all the countries cointributed really, but the USA is one of the worst. Bush is an idiot and only now that Gore has said something he's now starting to realize the problem. And I've noticed it's been one of the hottest years here in Florida. I don't hardly even go outside anymore. It rains more than normal, and the cold snaps are just plain out of no where.

I think the The World Leaders need to step up, and try to stop it from becoming worse.  The hole in the ozone layer is letting in all the harmful rays, and more heat is getting in. So if they don't step up NOW, our world will end sooner than its supposed to. They should have done something about this a long time ago. What did they expect their outcome to be? Pretty rainbows with unicorns flying around? I mean really now..

Apparantly that must have been what Bush thought when he turned down the Kyoto agreement.

All I remember is that in An Inconvienent Truth Al Gore said something about America making as much as the other continents combined. I'm not suprised, we didn't even ratify the Kyoto Protocol.

My science teacher said that if we don't do nothignabout global warming then our planet is going to turn into Venus.

Global Warm may be cheaper to adapt to, but that doesn't stop the Ice Caps from melting does it?

Global Warming is NOT the fault of a single country. Think about. The US is MUCH bigger than the UK. Who will use more gas and who will produce more smoke?

And where is oil highly active? Middle-East.

Global Warming is the fault of the entire world, and not one single territory.

I blame China!

Uh, not really. It gives me the giggles to say so because I use blamechina as a user name often.

Anywho, we're all to blame. Instead of world leaders changing things why don't we as the little people step up and make a difference?

You have hardly any knowlage of science...and your teacher must be someone off the street if they said that.
Venus has NO WATER, NO POLLUTION.
It has an acidic atmpsphere due to volcanic activity...that is a form of pollution...but it is compleatly different to our form of pollution.
Therefor, it won't happen.

She said something about the cloads of Venus.I think I messed up her words wrong.I think she was refering to water and she kept saying that we have little water left and the more we take long hours in the bath the more pollution we cause.Something like that.Just forgoet all I said before anything horrible happens.

Uhm. Taking a bubblebath is not polluting. And we have the same amount of water no matter what happens. We have the same amount of water and the same water that was used when the dinosaurs were around. And yes it makes your water bill go up, but your not wasting it....

And unless all the water from the earth was gone, we would never end up like Venus. You know nothing about science..

The only problem we would have is the Icecaps and thing melting and then the whole world overflows..like a bad toilet clog.. lol

but sersiously, if that happened, Florida, New Orleans, parts of Texas and other places would be underwater. We would probably have more Tsnumais or Hurricanes as well because of it being so warm and so much more water.

Anywho...

Yes, that is a reason why home school is better. You can actually do things for yourself and do research, not learn from a P.C. textbooks from 1942.

For some odd reason you're making me feel sleepy.
I studied everything at home even though I was at a public school....I got put into the 'lower-level' group for some reason...and i wound up getting top marks.

STUDY FOR YOURSELF, you shouldn't just rely on school for learning.

You should try doing some reasearch on the internet on something and compair it to what you learn in school....

You will find that 50% of the stuff they teach you at GCSE is a load of bullcrap.

I think it's mostly america but everyone is to blame.

We have to do something to stop this.

Everyone needs to stop blameing other people
*cough cough*countires of the world*cough cough*
and just work together to stop this before it's way to late.

I mean it's already to late but they need to stop it before it's way to late and we're having hurricanes in central america and blizzards in the bahamas.

Period means FULL STOP in a sentance. Yet you carry on.
Therefor, you have used the word incorrectly...giving the word it's OTHER meaning instead.

I do beleive the USA needs to cut down heavily on fossil fuel usage, China does to.
If I remember correctly, there are plenty of places in the USA that use wind power and hydroelectric power...but i don't know of any area's that use solar...

Glad that las Vegas has used hydro-power...I know it almost always has...but i am glad anyway.
Ofcourse, if you where to power that one city with just fossil fuels...we'd have run out 10 years ago or soemthing.

I think EVERYONE is to blame, but mostly America so that's who I voted for.
It's mostly because America has the most cars on earth, which uses up so much gas every 3 seconds and pollutes the air. China has alot of people to cause it too, but they don't have as many cars.
