Yeah, im not a big SMF fan, but we'll see how it goes. New skins could be nice, clean up the interface. There are 3 other choices for skins. I like the classic look the best.
I know that, I still don't really like anything, so I am eagerly awaiting the new skinsYeah, im not a big SMF fan, but we'll see how it goes. New skins could be nice, clean up the interface. There are 3 other choices for skins. I like the classic look the best.
Sorry. no need to get so touchy.Well, they can't get the old forum back (IPB). Read the first post by partiallynothing on the first page.
I just hope they get the old forum back as quickly as possible. No offence, but the layout is kinda cheap.
Really though, you'll find that SMF is pretty nice. The default skin is just sort of really complicated looking. Give us a week or so, and we'll have a couple of skins more like the ones we had.
You guys should have gone to myBB. Even vBulletin is better than this. MyBB is awesome.
Everyone: We needed to move to a more secure forum, it is that simple. Because of the licensing costs of Invision Power Board (and our out-of-date license), there has been investigation for some time about alternatives.
PHPBB is simply not secure. Period. It's free, has a decent templating engine, but that is all it has going for it.
vBulletin looks terrible, and seems slow.
Simple Machines is very speedy (has anyone else noticed the responsiveness of the website), the main URL's are clean (and bot safe) and the templating engine is VERY COOL.
Give it some time while cmonkey and others work on getting a nice spongebob theme up. For now, stop wining, this IS the forum software we're using. Try to get used to it, and expect a new skin soon.
(And stop complaining about the dam smilies! =)
Any forum is okay, as long as we have one.Heh, perhaps you never saw the "forum" we were running on during the month we were hosted at 1&1. I swear, we would have been better off mailing napkins back and forth with posts written on them.
Which one was that again? :PAny forum is okay, as long as we have one.Heh, perhaps you never saw the "forum" we were running on during the month we were hosted at 1&1. I swear, we would have been better off mailing napkins back and forth with posts written on them.
Dude, there is quick reply... it says "Quick Reply". You might have to change it in your profile. Anyway, it may be slow the first time before your browser caches everything.
Do ya'll not have patience or something? :|
WE'RE GETTING A NEW SKIN.
I know that!!I can't even comment on this new skin. :(WE'RE GETTING A NEW SKIN.
Yes. We are. Listen to this man. He's smart.
Stop complaining and asking a thousand questions. Be glad we even have forums right now.

I agree it does too. But I'm pretty sure that SMF is harder to hack than IPB.
After a day use of the boards...you're saying it sucks? -.-;;I agree it does too. But I'm pretty sure that SMF is harder to hack than IPB.
couldnt have said it better myslef..and yea..the new forums suckk....major lollypop...
Now the forums load faster =)You can set that in your Profile. It's under Look and Layout Preferences. "Return to topics after posting by default."
All you need to do is to add some smileys, *hopefully* add some useful mods, =P
At least there's a marqueeWEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!! xD
Also sir cmonkey, can you find a mod after you reply, you view the topic again like in IPB? That's some of the things im ticked off SMF -_-
