I LOVE PROXY SERVERS but i hattte it when people ban it from me and i become proxy deprived

I got a pop up about getting a proxy server. What is that all about? The ad said I could keep my current server and it would make everything faster. Please explain the pros and cons for me.

Basically a Proxy Server is the "Firewall". Sorry I just started this job, so I am still learning. I beleive it wont matter if yer using dial-up tho. Odds are if they have to shove it in front of your face, its a no good product that some importer bought, and needs to get rid of...HAHAHA if you cant tell I hate popups...

Using a proxy server will make it slower.  For example, if you want to access a website through a proxy, you contact the proxy, the proxy contacts the site, the site sends to the proxy, and the proxy sends to you.  It is really safe and anonymous though.

okay. Thanks! I just hate this sloooooooooooow connection of mine. BUT I do only pay $8.95 a month for it. I'd gladly pay more though is a faster connection was available.
