Nickelodeon and Paramount Home Entertainment present SpongeBob vs. The Big One, a new DVD release coming out on March 3rd. It includes 6 episodes of the show that are new-to-DVD, plus the title episode that is seen for the first time anywhere, only on this disc! This never-before-seen story includes the voice talent of Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean), in addition to the usual voice cast. Running time on this disc is 89 minutes, plus there will be some exclusive bonus material: "Plankton’s Special Sinister Commentary" and a "Ridin'the Hook" Music Video. Here is the studio description, plus cover art:
In the direct-to DVD premiere of SpongeBob vs. The Big One, SpongeBob and his pals find themselves stranded on Tropical Island after being swept away by a giant wave. While trying to find their way back home they meet the infamous surf guru Jack Kahuna Laguna (voiced by Johnny Depp) who tells them that the only way to get back to Bikini Bottom is to surf the legendary wave called "The Big One". Get even more laughs when SpongeBob tries to get a tan, Squidward becomes a giant, Patrick gets a nose and much more...
Doug, Rocko, Rugrats (pre-movie of course), Angry Beavers, Kablaam and Action League Now!...and I still like all of these shows now...I can't say the same for any current Nicktoon....I will always have an appreciation for 90s nick and before 90s forever.
Good television is timeless, I will admit that some of the shows I watched as an infant really were crap (Barney, etc.), but to this day I get a kick out of classic Nick and I am almost 17 years old...
