Title: Nickelodeon VS. Cartoon Network
Post by: Fifth Dynasty on June 14, 2005, 03:51:55 pm: Post your thoughts! I think Cartoon Network has MUCH better shows than Nick does. Nick is a bad company, always has been besides SB, and SB isn't funny anymore after you watch them again. Plus, Cartoon Network owns (not own as in pwn, own as in possesses) Boomerang. And Boomerang is the best thing that ever happened to Cartoons.

-Orignally aired the Family Guy pilot. PWN

As you can see, CN is awesome, and you should thinks so as well.

Plankton on June 15, 2005, 11:36:40 am: Oh yeah, I just remembered that I liked not one but two of Cartoon Network's kids shows, Dexters Labatory and (unfortunatly) Power Puff Girls, I know that is so not Sheldon J. Plankton, but that show was just show f***in' funny. Also, CN has Star Wars Clone Wars, which is an awesome show when you watch all the episodes together and not in the 5 minute blocks (my friend has the DVD, the DVD is the way to go). However, when you count old school Nick like Rocko and Angry Beavers and Action League Now and Zim, combine that with Spongebob, and Nick is probably just a little tiny bit better.

Also, I almost forgot, CN now has Camp Lazlo, which I have not yet seen but have high expectations for because it was created by Rocko's Joe Murray. I want to see this show. If that is good than Cartoon Network is full-fledged better.

They also have Toonami for anime and action fans (me!), Boomerang for old-classical shows (for my parents) and the regular stuff thats funny and good on origional Cartoon Network.
NICK is only good for ZIM and Spongebob...Angry Beavers was good...till it was taken off the air in the UK again.
NICK suck eggs...

Nicktoons has just got Spongebob and ZIM...well, it used to have ZIM...until they stopped making it.
CN has tons of great shows, lke Megas XLR, Samurai Jack, Ed Edd and Eddy, Powerpuff Girls, Dexters Lab and so on!
Plus, one thing CN doesn't have but Nick does have...which is pointless...presentors.
Nick is filled with presentors before the show, whereas CN just goes right onto the show.
That's how it should be, no presentors and fewer advertisments.

ANIME means JAPANESE ANIMATION.
NO AMERICAN developed show is ANIME.

Megas XLR looks like its anime, but it is not.
Samurai Jack looks like it's anime, but it's not.

Those 3 are now in ultimate battle. SpongeBob has power along with FOP's help, and Adult Swim has multiple powers (shows).

I really don't know what to pick. Spongebob is the only current Nicktoon I watch. I used to love Fairly Odd Parents too but the newer episodes are pretty blah.

Nick is left with Spongebob and Fairly Oddparents, the two nice shows in production. Now it takes three or more of every good (or poor) Nick show to compete with Cartoon Network's wide gallery of cartoons.

Sheldon, it looks like it's now a reverse crossover. Back then in the past, US cartoons were really popular in Japan and favorites among Ozamu Tezuka.
Only if the recent Legion of Superheroes (which I watched here in the Philippines) but airs in the US (WB Kids) was realistically rendered or done by Bruce Timm. All these fauxanime shows would have been better if done realistically or fluidly.

If Nick could make Nick@Nite their own channel, they could have a bunch of old shows fill up the night time slots. :)

If Nicktoons was not around then maybe I could see CN being on top, but regular Nickelodeon still has some great shows. I think Nick jr is on way to long though. It should be over at 12:00 pm. I know its for the kids but come on, Some of those shows I would never let my kids watch (If I had Kids). Nick jr is a whole other discussion in itself.
