Right click the desktop. Click on "Arrange Icons By" and select "Show Desktop Icons"
All the icons on the desktop disappear. To renable them, just do those steps over.

Bah. Why have another program for it when you can just get a Firefox Plugin? Go lookup FireFTP. It works great and is simple enough that you shouldn't need anything else. Plus it's good for me when I can't figure out how to configure a program around my college's proxy (or it just won't accept it). Cause it just instantly accepts firefox.
