I don't have one. Rap, hip hop, r&b, trip hop, electronica, trance, old school, blues, soul, ska, rock, metal, salsa, cumbia, merengue, on and on...I listen to alot and I like stuff from each genre.
-
"Indie" really isn't a genre. Tool and Iron & Wine could be both described as "indie", and they sound nothing alike. It's more a way to describe the label under which the album is released.
It's really hard to describe my music tastes in one genre.

There's really great rap, prog, alternative, indie(not really a genre), electronica, etc, etc

So you'd like avant-garde post-modernist industrial jazz?

UGHHH. I hate when people say that... and so many do.

I hate country and rap. What?

You can't simply say that you dislike every single artist/album in a genre... It's impossible.

Oh, I'll get you.
So, you'd listen to a lo-fi record of my singing Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace with futuristic techno raindrops in the background? WOULD YOU?
-

No, I'm not.
So, you're a fan of lo-fi? I presume you've heard the greatness that is Guided by Voices then?

I say we turn this into a discussion about Bee Thousand.
I love Bee Thousand, because it sounds so real. Everytime I listen I feel like I'm in Robert Pollard's basement.

This is a good idea.
Everything about it is perfect the fact that it's lo-fi just gives it... this feeling of warmth and comfort every time I listen.
-
You know, I used to hate how the songs were so lo-fi and only two minutes long, but later those were the same qualities that made me love it.
-
I couldn't really imagine a song like Hot Freaks or A Big Fan of the Pigpen being like that
