Title: Juno
Post by: Patback399 on January 01, 2008, 07:55:01 pm
Now, I know there's a topic I made where I could post what movie I saw recently, but... this movie is really special.

I'm not even going to try to explain it. You need to see it. If you have, did you love it or did you love it? Or the unspeakable third option?

Going to probably have to wait for the DVD though I'd like to see it in theatres.

I'd take my mom (she wants to see it) but she doesn't know how to not talk during movies.

I'll go with either of the first two options. I went to a showing of it at midnight in a tiny theater.

I heard about this movie and it's plot and all I could think was "whats the big deal?"

Maybe if I see the previews and get a better insight into what the movies is actually all about I see it.

OMG!!! Same for me mom-wise.  "What's gonna happen next?" "Why did he do that?", etc...  Gosh, if I knew all the details, I probably wouldn't be seeing it (unless it's an adaptation from a play/book).

I loved it.  I mainly went to see it because I'm a Micheal Cera fan, but turned out to be an amazing movie.  I can't wait to see what Diablo Cody does next.

It made me giggle when she said oh I'm just here with my girlfriends and then she said you're gay.

Not to be the martyr but I honestly didn't like it. Too "indie-by-numbers" for my taste

I really didn't like it... Sorry guys. I heard so much hype, then I went to see it thinking it would be amazing and was disappointed. I didn't think it was great, or bad, or much of anything. It was just a movie, that I didn't think was anything special. Maybe I'm crazy.

I thought it was an okay movie. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't amazing either. All the songs sorta got annoying after a while.

I saw it ten times in theaters and four on DVD... each time with a different person or different groups of people. I think the way it really works for me is seeing it with people who are important to you... I never got tired of it but I can't just sit down and watch it anytime. I would say my love for it has gone down but only because I saw it so many times and people keep mentioning it. I can't say the same thing for the movie that SHOULD have won Best Picture, "There Will Be Blood"... people can do the "I drink your milkshake!" all they want but I will never stop being fascinated by that movie.

Hear, hear!

Yeah, I need to give Juno some time before I watch it again. I haven't seen it too much, I just need to do that with some movies.

Yeah, see, I've seen "There Will Be Blood" eight times now and I am always pulled by it... because there are no straight answers. I'm never sure about anything besides what I can see with my own two eyes, so my interpretation of things is always different.

I liked hearing "I'm Sticking With You" by The Velvet Underground. I was mad that I wasted 10 bucks and an hour and a half of my time, though.

I really liked the soundtrack, but because it was all music that I already loved and then everyone started overplaying all the songs, it made me kinda bitter.

I still love the movie, too... but you DON'T make a movie with Jason Bateman and Michael Cera and NOT have them on screen together!

Hi Joe.

My boyfriend and I make fun of the soundtrack.

Oh, I like Kimya Dawson. I saw her live when I was fourteen and I met her at intermission and she liked my hair so she wrote me a song and sang it.

That's my friend Jack
I dig his hair
And just maybe
His underwear

My favorite Michael Cera moments of all-time, both in "Arrested Development":

-In "Good Grief" where he makes that noise. Remember? Yeah, that.

-In an episode I forget where Buster is waving his hook close to George Michael's face and he says "Oh my God" without moving his mouth at all.

What a wonderful man.

I love Ellen Page but I think he and Jennifer Garner gave the best performances in "Juno".

Yeah, I think she's fantastic in it. I can't wait to see her in "Jane Eyre".
