After like, 4 or 5 months of my old iPod being screwed up, and not being able to listen to it ALL summer...my mom is taking me to go get a new iPod today. I am absolutely stoked. This means I can have it for when we (possibly) go to Hershey Park on Friday (which is like a 4 hour car ride), and I can have it when school starts for the bus...which means no more Soulja Boy, Lil Wayne, and Top 40 abominations from the bus radio for me! :mellow:

Seriously that place is so damn boring, it's just farms for miles and miles. I mean I know some people like that kind of thing but it bores me to tears. Upstate NY where my cousins live is even worse.

They're coming out with new-gen ipods very very soon. like in a month.

I need to be a little less sarcastic. I guess it's good that you're getting a new iPod, but like that other person mentioned, wait like a month or so and they'll have a new iPod. Happens every year.

If you just want something that plays music and don't particularly care about video/itunes/whatever, Sansas are nice. I just got an e280 for $45. 8gb of flash, runs linux, and takes microSD cards for more storage.

sansas are nice...we have 2 older ones and I intend on getting a newer one soon for my brother's birthday. sound quality is pretty damn good.
I gotta find something with flac support for my next one tho and has a 16 or 32gb model...
I'll wait til sansa comes out with some new models

They just released firmware updates to do ogg and flac on their current line. I don't think they have a 32gb model yet, just 16gb + microsdhc.

Nah. I know a guy who had an iPod for like 3 years and i've seen him drop it into a puddle of rain and it still working.
Mine just used to be my sister's.
So she broke it somehow.

i've had a used shuffle for almost three years with no problems, and a nano for around two, also with no problems. they're made for durability, assuming you don't act crazy. c'mon guys... it's not a walkman!

Haha. My sister has actually had a $30 walkman for like...at least 8 or 9 years. Works fine (occasional skipping now)
