Haha, I posted about this on two other forums that I go on, and with a little bit more information.

Today, Google has officially released a public beta of their new internet browser called Google Chrome.

Here are some of the security features:

Blacklists - Chrome periodically updates a blacklist, one for malware and one for phishing, which helps protect your computer.

Sandboxing - Chrome prevents websites opened in tabs from doing stuff on your computer, like look at what you typed or install an exe without you knowing.

Plugins - Plugins like Adobe Flash Player are run on a different process because they can't be sandboxed.

Incognito - Somewhat like Safari's Private Browsing and IE8's InPrivate, Incognito allows you to surf without having data recorded or having cookies.

Google Chrome is currently under beta and is only for Windows, but Mac and Linux versions will be out shortly.

I'm currently using it right now as I type, and it's pretty good. It has several of Safari's features, like resizing texts boxes and anonymous surfing.

Hahahah they talked about it on the local news, and showed a screenshot of someone using Safari.

Well I just found this out... look at Chrome's browser info:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US) AppleWebKit/525.13 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/0.2.149.27 Safari/525.13

That means that Chrome combines elements from Mozilla (Gecko) and Safari (Safari/525.13).

I made it my default browser because I find it far better than Firefox.

I will try it when it comes out for Linux which would be soon, apparently.

Anyways, most features it has I can emulate with the mix of addons I use for FF.

Is Linux the only OS you use now?

I just gave it a whirl and it's pretty good. The only problem I'm having is my laptop's touch pad mouse scroller won't go up on Chrome. A minor annoyance in an otherwise solid browser.
