Yes, the normal age for a topic to be "ancient" is the last posting date of 2 weeks. But, for welcome topics, it's usually considered ancient after the person has been here for a while. No need to welcome someone that isn't new. So, Sean is right; don't post on ancient topics.

If you have something usefull to add to a topic then it shouldn't matter how old it is. In this case it was less then usefull. In some cases people posted something usefull but got attacked right away for posting on an old topic. Lets be friendly folks.
