The only one I can think of, that isn't really a big deal, is that our post count went down almost 2,000 posts yesterday...

It's never given me viruses. Anyway, if you're smart you should have some sort of anti-virus program.

I'm still one the old skin and it looks normal.

And this isn't a trial. If it was, I would see the (trial) tag at the bottom. So he can just go ahead and upgrade anytime.

I've noticed that there are a few images that seem to be missing...

The "smilie" image, all the post icons and the "snapback" image (the one that's supposed to be where the * is when you quote someone)... I use Firefox, so it's not such a big deal (I either don't see anything or get the "alt" text instead, unlike IE which shows the annoying "white box with a red x in the middle"), but it would be nice to have them...

Got a couple of questions...

1. Why can't I mark indivdual forums as read?
2. Why can't I subscribe to individual forums?

I would prefer to be able to mark a Forum as "read" when I'm done reading the posts in that forum, not when I decide I have read everything on the board that I want to read. By the time I finish reading everything, there might be new posts and/or topics in forums I've already read that I would be interested in, but if I mark everything as read, I miss these posts. Of course, I get spoiled by SMF marking a board (same thing as forum here) as read the instant you view it, even if there are still new topics in that board...

Interesting... So that's how it's done... What about subscribing, and also why don't we have any post icons?

Spiff - that's because all the smilies have weird codes instead of the usual easy to remember ones...

Example:

Well, you can copy these missing images from the IPB Default Skin (http://www.spongezone.net/forums/style_images/1) to the 1000 Members Skin (http://www.spongezone.net/forums/style_images/2):

post_snapback.gif
pages_icon.gif

You can get the post icons by downloading the "limited trial" version of IPB from invisionboard.com and unzipping that file (doesn't matter which version, since only the PHP files are encoded). The post icons are in upload/style_images/1/folder_post_icons.

Not sure what to tell you about the emoticons...

You know how it says (and Halo ofcourse) on the computer and games forum? Hear this:

-This is NOT my forum obviously, so my suggestion doesn't have to be taken.
-I do love Halo, but it's not the best game. I have many other good games, but Halo is a great one.
-Many people like Halo, but putting it up like that is unnecessary. If it was up to me, I would remove it.
    Thanks for your time.
Title: Re: How assuming and stereotypical!
Post by: VulturEMaN on April 23, 2007, 01:00:10 pm
1. The "(Halo of course)" was not referring to it as the best game....it referred to it as a favorite game. The site owner likes it.
2. This forum was created back when we all got together for LAN parties and played halo like there was no tomorrow. It was, and still is, quite necessary.

Next time, put something like this in the site's "Error Reporting" thread.
http://www.unitedspongebob.com/forums/index.php/topic,4175.195.html

And guess what? I'll even merge it for you.

Although this topic is just as pointless as putting mayonaise on the sidewalk.
