Title: Spongebob News
Post by: cmonkey on December 05, 2004, 03:39:40 pm
The SpongeBob crime wave is continuing (http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentServer?pagename=thestar/Layout/Article_Type1&c=Article&cid=1102115408663&call_pageid=968256290204&col=968350116795), with some sources claiming over 50 giant inflatable SpongeBobs stolen from Burger Kings across the country.  The moral of the story:  Go steal a SpongeBob now, before they're all gone!  Just kidding, please don't.  BK bought them for about $500 each; it's just evil to take them.

The SpongeBob Movie has retained its #5 spot in the box office this weekend, behind the same 4 movies as last week.  I'm guesstimating that it will gross $100 million by the end of its box office run.

Edit: (thanks Meep for bringing this to my attention), various inflatable SpongeBobs are appearing on eBay (http://search.ebay.com/inflatable-spongebob_W0QQmaxrecordsreturnedZ300QQsorecordsperpageZ50QQsosortorderZ2QQsosortpropertyZ3).  Most of the sellers claim that they legitimately purchased thier massive yellow friends, but somehow, I doubt that all of them are innocent...

A few of the BK SpongeBobs have been put up for sale on eBay. I saw one selling for $400.

This Will Suck:

Top Box Office  (12/05/04)

1.  National Treasure
2.  Christmas with the Kranks
3.  The Polar Express
4.  The Incredibles
5.  Closer
6.  The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie
7.  Alexander
8.  Finding Neverland
9.  Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason
10.  Ray
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I Hate You National Treasure    For
All This. If It Were No National  Treasure The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie
Whould Be Number 1 In The Box Office.

Uhhhh....if there's was NO National Treasure, I think The Incredibles would be #1. I don't mean to un-SB loyal or anything.

EDIT: This is pretty much one of those SB BK Balloons on EBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=26394&item=6135920684&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW)
