Title: Ch-ch-ch-changes!
Post by: cmonkey on January 10, 2005, 05:50:40 pm: Ask and ye shall receive, or something like that... I wasn't happy with the layout, you weren't happy with the layout, so I changed the layout. The side navigation bar is now cleaner and more SpongeBob looking. Instead of the annoying blinking, flashing ads at the top of the page, there are now Google ads that are much easier on the eyes and are much more relevant to the content of the site.

I'm currently in the process of manually converting all of the old pages to the new layout. I'm going in alphabetical order through the 150+ pages of the site... so it may take a while. After that is done, IZ and I can work on moving new content onto the site (thousands of pictures, an episode guide, etc).

Use those 6 DVDs...dont use anything with a logo. Logos make the site look bad

Post by: cmonkey on January 11, 2005, 03:31:05 pm: I don't think the number of ads is unreasonable. There is a skyscraper ad in the sidebar, and the google ad in the sub-banner. The second google ads that are left on some of the old pages are being removed manually. The ads aren't in the content area.

In fact, of the sites I have bookmarked and visit daily, Pocketgamers, Teamxbox, Slashdot, Pocketpcthoughts, and Overclockers, only Slashdot has fewer ads than the SZ.

On-Topic: I think its pretty nice, but CMonkey said that he stopped the video games page because it was rarely visited. You should edit it again because more and more people come to the site daily and may be intertested. Also the new layout is Ok, the ads are resanble, and its pretty easy to navigate.

Cool idea, a menu you can select from to change from day to night and vice versa. Or some other way, like randomly changing from day/night when you visit the site. :P
