After a month or two, I finally decided to update some Merchandise. There are 5 new pieces, all of them from other people. I'm going to add all my stuff sooner or later... hopefully sooner. :tongue:

Looks like Playstation 3 is going to be out in about 2 years. Right now, It looks like it could be hugely powerful. Sony/IBM/Toshiba is building a brand new processor from the ground up, called Cell. It's supposedly going to be able to do a teraflop of calculations every second, which makes it about 100 times faster than the average Pentium 4. The problem is that it wont be in mass production until 2007, while PS3 is going to be launched in 2005/2006. It will also probably be extremely expensive. Of course, people are going to buy PS3 anyway as long as Grand Theft Auto 4 launches with it, but will it be a good console or not?

Site News / Two New Character Bios And Some Site Changes

I added Character Bios of Don the Whale and DoodleBob today, so I'm done with Character Bios for a while. I'm probably going to be working on Merchandise next, and then maybe I'll add another tour or two. If you have any ideas for stuff you want updated, post it in the forums. I made a few changes to the site; you probably already noticed them if you visit this site a lot. If you aren't one of those cool people :wink: , I changed the nav bar over on the left, no the other left. The scrolling news bar at the top of the page now lists how many people are online and the most recent topics. In the forums, you can now see a person's online status in a topic.

There are apparently 3 more SpongeBob DVDs coming out this year. The first is the Tide and Seek DVD, coming out on July 29th. According to www.dvdtoons.com the episodes on it will be Mermaidman & Barnacleboy III, Big Pink Loser, Opposite Day, Squirrel Jokes, Rock-A-Bye Bivalve, Dumped, Bossy Boots, The Bully, Sleepy Time, and Squidsville. The next DVD coming out is SpongeBob SquarePants: Christmas, featuring Christmas Who?, Procrastination, Snowball Effect, Survival of the Idiots, Mermaidman & Barnacleboy IV, Chocolate With Nuts, As Seen on TV, Krusty Krab Pizza, and Squeaky Boots. That looks like a really awesome DVD to me. According to www.dvdtoons.com it is going to be released on August 30th. Also, a DVD called SpongeBob SquarePants: Season One is going to be released in early October according to www.digitalbits.com. If it really is the entire season one, that will be the greatest piece of plastic ever created! :biggrin:

Rumors have been going around about a new episode of SpongeBob airing on Saturday the 19th at 8pm EST. But, rumors aren't good enough for a news item at Sponge Zone, so I decided to do a little research. I looked around the Nick.com site, and saw that they were listing a New SpongeBob Episode at that time on that day. I saw that in a post in the Sponge Zone forums, someone said that the TV guide listed a Rocket Power movie for that time slot. So I checked the Nick.com site again, and the Rocket Power section listed a TV Movie Premier at 8pm on that Saturday. Tvguide.com says that "Reggie's Big Break", a 90 minute Rocket Power movie is showing at that time. 
I thought maybe it was a typo, and it was going to be on Friday at 8, but tvguide.com says that F.U.N/Culture Shock is on then... The only possible explanation for this is that Nick.com has been taken over by angry radioactive monkeys. That also explains how Rugrats Go Wild happened :wink:

I got a huge list of characters from SS4Gohan on the forums, so I'm going to start putting some of the people from it in the Characters section. For today, theres The Dirty Bubble and Mama Krabs. It has now been a full week since the forums launched. We already have 50 registered users! And thats not counting 15 more who are still validating. So, enjoy your daily dose of Sponge Zone, and check out the forums if you haven't already.

I tore myself away from the forums for enough time to update the Characters section. There are 2 new bios, Patchy the Pirate and Old Man Jenkins. According to the polls, the most popular section is Characters, so I'm going to be working on adding more of the minor characters.

Site News / Forum Is A Success!

So far, it looks like the forum is a huge success! There are 28 registered members and 8 more who registered but didn't validate yet. Everyone who visits this site should go and register! The forums are really fun. There are already nearly 700 posts in the forums, and more are there every hour. When you are registering, don't use a fake email address. If you do, the registration will never finish. Just use your real email address. We aren't going to be sending any mail to it anyway. I'm going to get back to regular updates of non-forum stuff in a day or two.
