TV, Movies & Music / Power Ranger Appreciation Thread
« on: January 03, 2006, 09:14:04 pm »
Yeah.  You ALL know you loved it.

Power Rangers was all the rage when I was in third grade.  Anyone who said they didn't watch it was lying.

My personal favorite (of the originals) was the Red one.  When they brought out the Green ranger, though, he became my favorite.  Then eventually, I thought the White ranger (who was the same guy who played green) was awesome.

The Blue ranger was a dork.

The Pink ranger...well...heh.

The Waste Land / Apology
« on: November 28, 2005, 05:04:09 pm »
Okay...this is something I don't normally do...apologize.

Most of you who know me also know that I have a bit of an attitude when I'm pushed.  I can't apologize for that because it's something I can't control.

I can apologize for some of the things I said.

First of all:

Deanna, I don't really like you.  You know it by now.  I'm sorry I said that stuff about you.  I don't mean to offend you or anything, but I just made an observation.  I apologize for being a butthole about it.  I won't apologize for anything else, because I can't say I regret it.  While I don't like you, I won't make a huge deal over it.  I honestly just think you're a little too uptight with the Waste Land.  Sorry if you take offense, but it's how I see it.  I can respect you for doing your job, even though I don't like you.

The rest of USB-  I'm sorry you all had to see me be a complete idiot.  I'm not usually like that.  Honestly, it's got a lot to do with the stresses from school and life in general.  I apologize for everything I did to offend anyone, and for being cold-hearted at a couple of points.  I'm also sorry that I basically caused the problems by questioning the rule, however, I won't say I'm sorry for not following the rule because it was dumb.

So there you have it.  An apology.  I realize how dumb I can be.  But you all should know that's not really me.

Anyway, Happy Birthday to everyone's favorite controversial figure.

Computers & Video Games / Blitz: The League
« on: October 23, 2005, 06:04:54 pm »
I played Blitz: The League this past weekend, and it's AMAZING.

For those who don't remember NFL Blitz, it was a football game that was all about late hits, fast gameplay, and no rules.

Well, there have been many incarnations of it, but the new one strays from the original formula in a way.

First of all, there is no NFL License, because it would make the NFL look bad.  So you don't find your favorite player or team on the game.

You start off with a team from the city of your choice, and with a nickname of your choice (Mine were the Honolulu Gangstaz), and you have to get them from Division 3 of the league up to the Division 1 championship.  You do this any way you can.  Make your players lift weights and use dietary supplements, or go the illegal way, and use steroids.  Each game, you can wager money on your team, and try to win more money to afford equipment, services, and supplements to make your team better.

Also new to gameplay is "dirty hits."  You can use dirty hits to have a higher chance of injuring an opponent or causing a fumble.  When you cause an injury, the screen shows an x-ray of whatever part you're injuring.  For example, if you cause a player's leg to break, it shows the bone, and then it snaps into pieces.  If you cause them to tear a muscle, it shows the muscle rip.  When your players are injured, you have a choice.  You can either treat them, and let them sit out the normal amount of time, or you can "juice" them and they'll be back in a couple of plays.  When I played, I caused a guy a spinal contusion, and his team juiced him.  He was back in 2 plays, when he'd normally be out for 6 games.  If you juice, and are caught by the league, however,  then your team gets fined a large amount of money.

Of course, the story mode isn't the only part of the game, there is quick play, where you can play as any Divison 1 team, or your created team.  It has all the same features minus the money gained after a game.

Overall, I would recommend this game to anyone (17+ since it's rated mature) looking for fun, whether you're a football fan or not.

Computers & Video Games / America's Army

Anyone here played or play America's Army?  I downloaded and played it earlier.  That game is fun.

It was made by the US Army as a training tool, but they released it on the net for mass distribution.

The Waste Land / Night Classes Suck
« on: October 05, 2005, 01:31:08 pm »
Yeah.  They do.  I have class 6:00-8:30.

When you kids go to college, don't take night classes, or early classes.
