Debate Den / A Letter To George W. Bush
« on: September 03, 2005, 11:02:04 am »
Friday, September 2nd, 2005

Dear Mr. Bush:

Any idea where all our helicopters are? It's Day 5 of Hurricane Katrina and thousands remain stranded in New Orleans and need to be airlifted. Where on earth could you have misplaced all our military choppers? Do you need help finding them? I once lost my car in a Sears parking lot. Man, was that a drag.

Also, any idea where all our national guard soldiers are? We could really use them right now for the type of thing they signed up to do like helping with national disasters. How come they weren't there to begin with?

Last Thursday I was in south Florida and sat outside while the eye of Hurricane Katrina passed over my head. It was only a Category 1 then but it was pretty nasty. Eleven people died and, as of today, there were still homes without power. That night the weatherman said this storm was on its way to New Orleans. That was Thursday! Did anybody tell you? I know you didn't want to interrupt your vacation and I know how you don't like to get bad news. Plus, you had fundraisers to go to and mothers of dead soldiers to ignore and smear. You sure showed her!

I especially like how, the day after the hurricane, instead of flying to Louisiana, you flew to San Diego to party with your business peeps. Don't let people criticize you for this -- after all, the hurricane was over and what the heck could you do, put your finger in the dike?

And don't listen to those who, in the coming days, will reveal how you specifically reduced the Army Corps of Engineers' budget for New Orleans this summer for the third year in a row. You just tell them that even if you hadn't cut the money to fix those levees, there weren't going to be any Army engineers to fix them anyway because you had a much more important construction job for them -- BUILDING DEMOCRACY IN IRAQ!

On Day 3, when you finally left your vacation home, I have to say I was moved by how you had your Air Force One pilot descend from the clouds as you flew over New Orleans so you could catch a quick look of the disaster. Hey, I know you couldn't stop and grab a bullhorn and stand on some rubble and act like a commander in chief. Been there done that.

There will be those who will try to politicize this tragedy and try to use it against you. Just have your people keep pointing that out. Respond to nothing. Even those pesky scientists who predicted this would happen because the water in the Gulf of Mexico is getting hotter and hotter making a storm like this inevitable. Ignore them and all their global warming Chicken Littles. There is nothing unusual about a hurricane that was so wide it would be like having one F-4 tornado that stretched from New York to Cleveland.

No, Mr. Bush, you just stay the course. It's not your fault that 30 percent of New Orleans lives in poverty or that tens of thousands had no transportation to get out of town. C'mon, they're black! I mean, it's not like this happened to Kennebunkport. Can you imagine leaving white people on their roofs for five days? Don't make me laugh! Race has nothing -- NOTHING -- to do with this!

You hang in there, Mr. Bush. Just try to find a few of our Army helicopters and send them there. Pretend the people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast are near Tikrit.

Yours,

Michael Moore

P.S. That annoying mother, Cindy Sheehan, is no longer at your ranch. She and dozens of other relatives of the Iraqi War dead are now driving across the country, stopping in many cities along the way. Maybe you can catch up with them before they get to DC on September 21st.

Hmm...

Dear Michael Moore,

stop ::Dolphin Noise::ing to the president about problems in the USA. why dont YOU get off your big, fat, white *** and go help the people in new orleans

Oh, you 'cant'? why not? oh i see, family guy is coming on in half an hour, okay.

Everything Else / This iBook Sale In Houston...
« on: August 17, 2005, 08:56:28 pm »
I was going to post this earlier. This morning on the radio I heard them say something about this place selling iBooks (I'm thinking those are laptops?) for $40 each. Well, these iBooks were four years old, but apparently they were in good condition, because 17 people were injured trying to buy them. One person lost their shoe and never got it back, and another suffered from a broken foot. (Either that or some other bone close to their foot, I'm not a reliable memory source)

I just found that funny. I've never heard of those until this morning.

The boards only allow me to post 6 pictures a post, so I'll have to post over and over.

Since Ty never got around to do it, I'm up for taking my time to make one. All you have to do is send an email to FinkUSB@yahoo.com with this information AND A PICTURE OF YOU. If it isn't one of you, it will be ignored. =) -

Everything Else / Ever thought of this?
« on: July 09, 2005, 03:46:40 pm »
I was thinking again. Has the USB ever had any kind of Forum Awards? Like members get voted for, let's say, Funniest Member or something. You know? Like a USB Forum Awards 2005. The mods and admins could vote on their own time or something, or it could just take longer and get everyone to vote.

Debate Den / Do Animals Have Souls or Not?
« on: May 31, 2005, 09:14:42 pm »
That question has always lingered around in my mind, but I've never gotten a straight answer from anyone. I believe they do, of course. People that don't usually say the only purpose they have on this earth is to be eaten. I think that's complete bull. Animals have saved lives and are awesome companions for everyone. I think that they truly deserve a reward for those reasons, and I don't mean just a bone or a lot of treats or something. A reserved spot for them in Heaven would be nice.

Of course, that could just go along with the topic about Heaven, and what you think it is. Maybe you're long lost pets will be there when you die, since that's one thing you want. I'm not sure, but I still support the idea. I sure don't want to believe that the animals that I've loved didn't waste their time on Earth to be thrown into oblivion. There's got to be something more to their life.

Everything Else / How Are You Feeling?
« on: May 21, 2005, 10:04:23 pm »
Just post how you feel at the very moment, and if you want to, explain why.

I'm extremely bored now, so I decided to start up this thread.

« on: May 21, 2005, 04:48:57 pm »
I was wondering..

Do any other members want to make one big chatroom? The only messenger I have is AIM, so if you have anything that works with that, IM me and I'll add everyone from there. It's 6:47 central at the moment. (Texas) I'm online.. waiting to chat.. blah.

My screenname: Whatsername46

And if this is not allowed.. close it. It didn't say it wasn't so I guessed it was ok.

I never knew there was a Spongebob message board until May 1st at 11:54 PM. Wow. And I see that this board's been up for about.. 2 years?

I have to tell you, I'm terrible at introductions. My name's Kristi, and I'm a major spongebob fan. Actually, the flying dutchman is so much cooler, but whatever. Anyways, from now on, I'll be here on these forums talking with people like you. :)
