External Hard Drive Help
« on: May 26, 2007, 05:47:19 am »
Okay...I was packing up my stuff for my flight. I had a lot of time left. So I decided to hook up my external to listen to music but it wasn't being read on my computer. So I tried on my dad's laptop. Not being read either. What happened? Hardware failure or something? HELP!

is there some sort of power switch on the back? maybe try restarting a computer with it plugged in?

Done that. Nothing. There's supposed to be a red light that blinks when it is reading my data. Only the green light(power)is on. I'm really frustrated because a crapload of valuable data is on there. I took a lot of effort on it too and I don't want to lose it all.

It does make a little click sound when I turn it on and it stays quiet from there.

As of now my dad's friend who works with computers took it to see what is wrong. He's got a good reputation so I hope he'll figure it out.
