I am Green...I registered Green last year during the Canadian elections, and when the conservative's overthrow the gov't and make us have another election, I may just vote Liberal to spite Harper.

I'm Conservative.

I am Liberal though in some aspects, I'm not a "hardcore" Conservative though.

I'm 70% Conservative and 30% Liberal. What makes me Conservative is my Pro-Life opinions, Anti-Population Controlism, and my idea of lowering taxes (I've just discovered that low taxes are good.). My Liberalism is my opposition to the death penalty, my anti-war-ness.

I hate politics.  I hate the fact that is causes so much petty bickering, I hate the polarizing effect it can have on people, I hate the fact that nowadays it seems like you have to be one extreme or the other.  So file me under "Don't Give A Crap".

I'm probably somewhere in the middle... so yeah. I tend to lean Conservative but I have several Liberal ideas as well. Moderate I guess. *shrugs*

I am conservative in the sense I don't agree with abortion, but then again I am for gays getting married.

I'm really pretty balanced. I am not one extreme nor the other.

I'm on the fence. (no poll option for that!) I dont like bush and think he's a greedy Liar who is using terrorism as a means for absolute control over the oil in the middle east and to finish daddy's business, plus I think hes a puppet. I DO however agree with his stand on Homosexuality and abortion. Which should be illegal (and remain illegal). I voted Kerry because this iraq cover-up needs to stop and we need to get our troops back to fighting terrorism stop playing a bully.

Moderates are just liberals, because they are ashamed to admit they are liberal.

Michael: Hey Mitchel, are you a Republican or a Democrat?

Mitch: Indep.

Michael: Are you right-wing or left-wing?

Mitch: Middle-wing

Michael: Are you pro-life or pro-choice?

Mitch: pro-choice

See what I mean?  That's a true story BTW.  Liberal has become a dirty word to many people.

I am liberal. I can't stand the homosexual and abortion stuff being banned. Maybe some people aren't Christians or Catholics, eh? You should never get a single religon belief shoved down your throat. Since when does the goverment get to choose what normal is? My normal is different than everyone of you. My normal is not wrong, and no one elses normal is wrong. Therefore, don't make a normal for a law. When will the government learn?!

You may find this strange coming from a Catholic, but I completely agree. One belief shouldn't be shoved into someone's mind. It isn't only a Christian's world, it's everyone else's who doesn't believe or care as well. What truly happened to the "freedom" of America?

I'm liberal when it really matters. Rarely conservative.

No, it didn't. Slavery was hardly an issue, since some Northern states had slaves too. The War for Southern Independence (as I like to call it, hehe) began after 35 years of discontentment in Southern states. The North was taxing the dickens out of them and overall not giving them the same benefits of the Northern states. The South wanted to suceede because of unfair treatment, not because the North wanted to take away slavery.

Gee wiz, what do they teach in school?

MSP...describe the 'family' to me? Because, as far as I know, polygamy has been around a lot longer than the Liberal government. In fact, it's been around a lot longer than most religions. And for those of you who do not know what polygamy is, it is having either a male, or a female (in rare cases of society where there are less women) taking more than one spouse.

You're not alone, I have to agree with you. I know lots of people who are not Christian, and they wouldn't like it if all of the laws in this country would be changed to meet Christian ideas.

In order to make it through the world one needs some insanity.

MSP, you should learn to use something you have in your head you may or may not have previously known about, it's called a "brain". That was a very prejudiced comment and is not entirly true at all, I know a guy who considers himself an independent but has a lot of conservative viewpoints, and while it is true that most independents are generally liberal, it doesn't mean all of them are.

Sorry sweetheart, that link is not proving what you want it to. The Civil War was started because of STATES RIGHTS. If slavery was such a huge issue, why did General Robert E. Lee free his slaves then fight for the Confederacy?

Lincoln didn't even care whole lot about slavery, he just wanted the United States to stay united. "If I could save the Union without freeing any slave, I would do it; If I could save it by freeing all the slaves, I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone, I would also do that."

Who taught you that slavery all on it's lonesome cause the Civil War?
