MSP, you should learn to use something you have in your head you may or may not have previously known about, it's called a "brain". That was a very prejudiced comment and is not entirly true at all, I know a guy who considers himself an independent but has a lot of conservative viewpoints, and while it is true that most independents are generally liberal, it doesn't mean all of them are.

Sorry sweetheart, that link is not proving what you want it to. The Civil War was started because of STATES RIGHTS. If slavery was such a huge issue, why did General Robert E. Lee free his slaves then fight for the Confederacy?

Lincoln didn't even care whole lot about slavery, he just wanted the United States to stay united. "If I could save the Union without freeing any slave, I would do it; If I could save it by freeing all the slaves, I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone, I would also do that."
