Guess Who Needs Help Again!
« on: July 21, 2005, 04:14:55 pm »
Okay...I'm determined to fix what is wrong with my computer instead of formatting it...because I'm lazy and don't like formatting XD

So I ran a Spybot S&D scan and this was my odd result:

Error during check!: Xuron55.Installdollars (Datei C:\WINNT\win.ini kann nicht geƶffnet werden. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process) ()
----

Can anyone tell me exactly what this means?  I'm taking it that spyware has managed to embed itself into my win.ini file...but it looks normal when I view it in msconfig...

This thing is driving me nutzo...but I am determined to fix it without a reformat...

Exit all programs that on your taskbar then run the program. Un-install anything that is unnecessary.

Use "hijack this" :)

Oh...and you need to use avast as well. It protects you from spyware and viruses

At this point, I suggest just reformatting.

Avast! Antivirus is probably your best bet. It's not only an antivirus program, it protects you from spyware and tells you when it's blocked it :)

Spybot can be set to do that.

Yeah.  Spybot does that...but it's kinda annoying sometimes...because you don't always know what the heck is happening...so you don't know whether to accept or deny sometimes.

There is no such thing as peace and there never will be. Peace is a delusion believed by the weak. Gandhi said : "An eye of an eye would leave the whole world blind". So be it because only a blind world can experience the peace that it deserves. But there in lay the sick irony. Who will be able to see this peace? The human species is at war. The enemy walks among us nearly invisible. Only those with true discernment can see them. But only one with discernment and vision can show them to others

Stop visiting virusey sites

I don't go to "virusey sites"

You can get random viruses from other people who have worms that scan IP addresses...and that seems to be how I get EVERYTHING.
