Does anyone know where I can buy an inexpensive hard drive? My Maxtor 80GB died the other day, and I'm looking to get something around 80GB.

You could check
http://www.pricewatch.com
It's usually easy to find cheap stuff there.

I generally check the Newegg refurb section or watch the [H]ot Deals forum at [H]ard|OCP. So far, I've gotten a 160gb for $30 and 2x250gbs for $220.
250gb for $70 after MIR:
