Arrr, mateys!  Today be the glorious day of the year where ye be talking like a swashbuckling, peg-legged, pirate!  In celebration of what is possibly the best non-denominational, non-commercial holiday out there, here is a guide to all the pirates in SpongeBob that you know and love.

Patchy the Pirate

Patchy the Pirate is a regular feature of half-hour SpongeBob specials, and is generally disliked by most of the SpongeBob watching populace.  Probably because he's annoying and just generally not very funny.  He is played by the otherwise wonderful Tom Kenny.
Pirate Rating:  a $1 DVD in Chinatown

Painty the Pirate

Painty, a painting of a pirate by artist Calvin Liang, voiced by Pat Pinney, with Stephen Hillenburg as it's mouth, opens each glorious episode of SpongeBob by leading the theme song.
Pirate Rating:  Two glass eyes!

The Flying Dutchman

Not only is the Flying Dutchman a pirate, but he's also a ghost!  Ghost pirates are about 10x more piratey than anything else on earth.  He haunts the underwater world  in his mysteriously glowing pirate ship.
Pirate Rating:  Hotter than Johnny Depp

Yay Megan! I dressed up in pirate gear today wewt. Even though I could not find my eyepatch anywhere. It probably got lost in the move... :sad: Anyways there was one other kid in my school (that I saw) that was celebrating TLAPD. I thought it was cool.

aaarrrgh! i only heared about talk like a pirate day today, oh well. i'll be ready next year.

im sorry but i have to disagree with the 'hotter than jonny depp' thing. i mean come on.

anyway. i dont like patchy the pirate either and i find it almost impossible to watch his specials.  he seems to think that the only people watching spongebob are little kids. i mean really. its not like its a kid's cartoon or anything.... well it is, but that's not the point.

i cant talk in a pirate voise either but im going to attempt it once more aaarrr:

Patchy's extremely stupid but that's I guess what makes it funny. Pretty much everything on Spongebob is stupid but it's funny. The movie is not too funny but I'm not going to say anything bad about it on a Spongebob forum.
