No offense or anything, but why don't you actually debate him rather than just saying "Shut up?"

As for what Timo said, it won't work.

First of all, there already is COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection) for people under the age of 13 but most people will just lie about there age online. It would be the same with the 15+ thing.

Also, being 15 is still being a miner, aand 15 year olds are a lot more horny than a 12 year old, and will be more likely to get molested, if it happens, as they are more likely to wwant to exhange pictures, etc.

For people who say it is Microsoft's fault: It isn't. Its a voice chat system. Most  games on Live are M, and for some reason I want to guess the game they met on was Halo 2, the most popular game for Xbox, from Microsoft and Bungie. Now, im not saying minors should be banned from M games, but a parent should be checking in on them sometimes. Of course, again, it isn't really MS's fault at all. The two ONLY MET on Live, they exchanged emails via Live, and then thats where it began. Which I guess could pretty much cancel out this entire paragarph.

Nice debate. Come back when you can say something intelligent.

@ IceFox: Yes, I know they lie about their age, but thats why parents don't have to buy them a computer until they are 15 :P

Of course, there is

-The Family Computer

Most people have a family computer, and there is no way Kids cant use them. They may need it for school research or to type homework, and Kids can do the registering, etc,  for sites then. And use AIM Express.

Also there is the school computer. And Proxys. Younger kids who are using computers a lot, and a lot more of them are learning what a proxy is, and can use them to access sites that the school blocked.

Flat out, it just wont work restrcited the age to 15 or older.

Password for family computers. Maybe an account for mom & dad and thats it. Kids cant use it unless they figure out the password.

Yes, but what about schoolwork that needs to be typed? They will need the computers, the parents log them in, they can do there browsing then. Parent walks in room-They close browser. delete cookies/history/files whatever, and its trace is gone. Of course, not a lot of people would go through that trouble to talk to someone on AIM...

Also, you completely ignored school computers.

Flat out, I think the idea of banning interent access to people under the age of 15 is stupid, won't work, and people will still find ways around it. Like when Microsoft patches up Windows (The countless times they have done so) someone will soon find a new exploit.

I hate online gaming... I don't see the point of it. A lot of the people are really rude and nasty too you for no apparent reason other then the fact you are a n00b or whatever. I prefer to play on my own or with someone I know. It's just a waist of money. It really is.

I agree, and not to mention many of us know more about computer then their parents, and a lot of us knew more about computers then our parents when we were 8.

In order to make it through the world one needs some insanity.

I'm sorry. But I'm pretty sure the creator of XBox Live or whatever meant it for kids. For lonley little kids to play together. That man should not have been on there. Maybe they should have age limits? I know kids lie about their age but honestly.. and a 14 year old? Thats crazy! His parents need a talking to. Timo, I've been using computers since forever. I've been a victim of crazy child molestors online. And I was SMART. Okay? I Said NO. Okay? Not all kids are like this one. Although I Feel like this kid is the victim, I do believe he was kinda dumb. Warnings should be posted on the internet everywhere. YOU could be a child molestor, Timo, cmonkey, Roger, Joe, whoever. But yeah. Who knows. No one. You just never know.

Xbox live was aimed towards young adults about 19+ as well as Xbox, hints most of the games are shooters.

Halo is rated M. And if it was T, he is 15. So he could play it. Video game ratings are like the ones of movies-

EC (Early Childhood) - G rated
E (Everyone) - PG rated
T (Teen) - PG-13 Rated
M (Mature) -R Rated
AO (Adults Online) NC-17 Rated

Scilla, rating means nothing anymore. You are supposed to go BY THE CONTENT. I'm allowed to play halo. My dad doesn't see anything wrong with "vialont games and movies." So ya, My opinion.

Yo, How did this start? Giving out adresses or something? I'll kind of agree with timo. If they are under the age of 15 They should have perental watch. Alot of kids play games or watch TV they aren't sopposed to be watching. (I still don't know the entire story of this, is it because some kid gave some random dude on Xbox Live his Address?) Seroisly, you shouldn't give anyone that stuff, no matter who it is.

ok i know this will probably come out wrong....but in sex you get the same pleasure no matter what or who you are doing. Why would he want to meet this male boy so badly if he was really that turned on? He should have just gone out and hired a hooker (not that that is right either) but to molest a 14 year old.

And that kid is stupid, lets say hes in about 7 or 8th grade here! thats almost high school! this kid definetly has had some issues or something. I have been an online victem of perverts MANY  times, so many i cant keep track. I think we should (we meaning under the age of 15) be allowed to use the internet, but let it be controlled. for instance type in a secret pin code when u would want to look up bad websites. Chatrooms, however, 18+ should only be allowed. And i mean the AIM chatrooms the AOL chatrooms. They have kids chats, but the problem is some sicko like this guy going into the kids chat. They should have 5 mods for every 15 people in a chatroom, so they could be kicked out and reported.

These sickos don't molest for the pleasure of sex... they do it for power. They do it for dominance. They do it to inflict fear unto their victims... and there is nobody more vulnerable than a child.

What is stupid is his parent's weren't watching him and keeping better track of his activities... sure I realize parents can't watch their children 24/7 but they should at least be wise enough to monitor their children when they are online.

There are such things as web filters, yah know... they block out certain words and topics. There are varying degress of filters too. Some just block out bad words, while some even block websites that have bad words in the URLs... many educational sites are blocked off because of a few cuss words.

Kids could still get into the 18+ chats... I did when I was younger. It's too easy. Many just ask for a birthdate and let you right on in. And the problem with that is it is easy too change your IP address. You could go right back on in... once again, I have done that as well. You got a lot of script kiddies in chatrooms.
