It wont be cancelled until like...2012 (or so says wikipedia). I doubt Spongebob is going for more than 6 seasons.

They have NO way to know that/ It may end then, it may not. If I am not mistkaen, contracts just recently got renewed.

that petition says its from 2001. 5 years ago. well, 5 in october.
since then, the creator did leave, which is what is said, but they've still made more episodes.  
dont trust almost-5-year-old petitions.

:( That's sad to think that it wont go past four sesons though. But why? It doesnt make sense since there is such a strong fan-base for the show and it is more than half of nick's profit when it comes to merchandise and such. You cant go through a grocery store or almost any type of store almost without seeing somethign that is Spongebob. When the movie came out, I couldn't go through my high school one day without seeing at least one person with a spongebob shirt on or some sort of SB merch. (maybe boxers? lol how would I know?) So, yeah. They really shouldnt cancel a show based on it's low-budgetry and because Stephen feels like it. As a matter of fact , Stephen is only credited anymore with startign the idea, he doesnt even work for it anymore. Last I heared, he's on the verge of starting a new series that is currently untitiled.

The creator didn't leave. He just stepped down as exec producer and gave it to Paul Tibbitt. The completely competent Paul Tibbitt.
