Linkjacking?
« on: March 13, 2006, 08:40:25 pm »
Since i dont know if there is a word for this, im inventing it. but, do you feel that when someone posts up a link to a piece of information on a forum, should hte author of that post express some kind of view on what he/she is posting, or is it ok for them to act like they are submitting a headline to fark.com?

It depends on the topic... if I'm posting a news article, I'm just going to post it, wait for someone to give their $.02, and then rebutt their argument.

Timo and IceFox are the only ones that really do that... not that it's a problem. Timo is worst with it though... with just posting a link and no real opinion.

There is nothing wrong with just posting a link. Usually I like to see others opinions before I give my own.

Well, when you post a link to a newsarticle we assume you'll at least give your opinion in the original post... but w/e. Too each his own.

I dont see anything wrong with it. Sometime you dont have an opinion, but it would be nice  to let other see the article and respond to it. Also, sometimes, you come back klater and put in your views, Like I am doing later with my South park thread.

It's no problem at all.  Some people like to see what others will say before they say anything.  Nothing wrong with that.

Debate: To engage in argument through the expression of opposing points of view.
www.apsu.edu/wet/whatis.html

i believe people posting links should express an opinion on the contents of said link, you do not, so yes, this is a debatable topic.
