Go to your LAN card settings in control panel. Be sure Full Duplex is selected.

I get like 5 to 6 mbps on an 802.11g wireless.

no, you got that on whatever your router is hooked up to minus the loss of speed from wifi signal loss :p

Unless your city has implemented Munincipal WiFi you do not get your internet from a wireless connection, you get it from a teleco or cable company that set you up with a *local* in your house range of 500 feet wireless that allows your wireless devices to access the landline connection

run the test i linked too, that will tell you the speed from your computer to the rest of the internet :D

IZ is right. His incoming connection is 6mbps. But his lan speed is about 54mbps.

Anyways, I'm on a 10/100 (@100mbps) with an incoming cable line running at 6mbps.

You're upload speed sucks.. but yeah I use the same Speed Tester.

I hope everyone using Firefox is using the speed hack. It adds about .5 mbps.
