No!   Don't listen to those. :S

One is a crappy Nelly song.  The other is Linkin Park/Jay-Z...and because it has Linkin Park, it's bad.

Kanye West, Nas, Jay-Z, and Outkast are all good.  Nelly is fine is you check out his "Country Grammar" album.  Also, I STRONGLY reccomend The Roots and Jurassic 5.  Both are really good.

The Transplants are pretty interesting.

You could go back to old school and check out Run-DMC, Erik B and Rakim, NWA, Onyx, Naughty by Nature.

if you want some older stuff, try some tupac, cypress hill, bone thugs n harmony, run dmc, ice-t, n.w.a, snoop dogg, or dr. dre.

others you could look up are dmx, lil flip, lil rob, method man, redman, petey pablo, trick daddy, scarface, westside connection, ice cube, mack 10, ludacris, lil jon, nappy roots, n.o.r.e, outkast, xzibit...lol, i got more.

and these are if you're talkin bout mainstream stuff.

Glad you mentioned the Kentucky boys, Nappy Roots in there.

And something I don't think anyone has mentioned is Wu-Tang Clan.  Enter the Wu-Tang was an awesome album.
