Windows Vista Beta 2
« on: June 11, 2006, 02:39:34 am »
I'm currently running Windows Vista Beta 2 right now and it's not bad at all. It's actually alot faster than XP is for me but that might be because of I'm running the 64-bit version. As a pro linux user, I like it alot more than XP because of the speed and it's running very good. When I first downloaded it, I expected it to be total crap but it's actually very good and no trouble with it at all but the install was a little bit slow. Here's screenshots I took from it. By the way it doesn't have 2 screens like it shows in the screenshot. Vista was weird and made it like that for some reason.

Everyone is saying that and it's because I made them big in that screenshot.

Its an option that is in every version of Windows....to make the icons that large. They made em look really pretty in XP, but not many people like that feature cause they all have cluttered desktops. Believe me, it looks really nice at high resolutions and the icons large like that.

I'm actually gonna download it right now. It's goin way faster than they said it would. I guess that they thought I'd be using IE. :P

Gettin the 64 bit version (4.4gig) in a lil less than 1 hour. lol

Meh, looks alright. But I won't get it now. I'll probably just buy one...

I started downloading it, but the server was too slow.

lol? I was getting mine at like 1300kb/s...I don't know what this nonsense about a slowdown was....

I had to restart it tho...:(...firefox randomly crashed around 68%...

Naa, I wanna test it out first to see if it's worth getting with my current video cards.

Is there a download link to try it out?

Btw, if I do happen to install vista, will it overwrite all my files and I lose information?

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/preview.mspx

Scroll down a little more than halfway down the page, pick your country, then hit ok. It makes you log-in to your Passport account, tho.

btw, my download is only going @ 480kb/s now that I'm not downloading the 64 bit version (which corrupted itself near the d/l finish :P)

Is it possible to get it as a secondary OS, and if so, how?

And also, will it overwrite any files?

And third, how would I boot into it as a secondary OS?

I have a prob. When I copied the ISO into a dvd disc and put it on my DVD-ROM disc tray the program didn't run. What happened?
