« on: September 08, 2006, 03:33:41 pm »
well as we all know the 5th anniversary is coming up. 90% of the kids at school are staying home to try to make it a national holiday, and we are gonna all write to people, the news, everyone. What about you guys?

Its amazing that we can have a day off for some presidents birthday but still forget about the thousands of people who died.

What about you guys, do you agree?

Are you staying home?

I can assure you most of these kids want an excuse out of school.

Thing is, it has been 5 years and I honestly don't care too much. I care people died, I am not a creep, but I did not no a single person, so my life was barely affected.

9/11 when will be like Pearl Harbor day, at day of remembrance, but no one would get the day off, since Labor Day is only about 1 week before 9/11.

In order to make it through the world one needs some insanity.

That's stupid that kids think they're going to get a day off.  Less than 2% of them are actually going to treat it like a grim day when hundreds of people died, and they want to celebrate by staying home, where they most likely won't be remembering the day at all.  They just want another day off school.  They're not going to grieve all day, unless they lost someone especially close to them.  And like IceFox, I didn't know anybody that died.

Do you honestly think students would do anything to remember the lives lost? No. However, they'd be much more likely to do something if they were in school.

I couldn't find the words to explain what I was thinking, but they said it perfectly on the radio today.

By changing our lives over 9/11, we're letting the terrorists win. We have to go on with our usual lives.

Honestly, kids would remember it more if they went to school than if they stayed home playing video games/watching TV/Internet.

Tomorrow (9/11) is my first day of school, and even if some kids stay home saying that they should stay home, I'm going to school saying that I should go to school.

I can't believe it's been 5 years already. I'm still in shock that it happened.
April Fool: I'm the April Fool. What's up with that?
Timmy: It's official, this guy sucks. I wish he was somewhere else!
*Poof!*
Timmy: Where'd you guys poof him to?
*Both fairies give evil smiles*
April Fool: I never asked for this!
Jorgen: Shut up, or I'll have Chuck Norris roundhouse kick you in the face again!

A) Like Patback said, you learn something everyday.
B) I never said you wouldn't learn anything, I said you would remember it more, because everybody's so serious, like the teachers and all.

At 8:46 AM today, (I think it was that time) we took a minute of silence, and that was about it.  And it felt so weird, the room being so quiet and such.

Squidward: What?
Mr. Krabs: ANCHOVIES!

Many stayed home today, I watched the news and rememberd what happened.

So many kids didnt turn up that the school couldnt call al the houses to alert parents that their child was absent. I know for a fact because they didnt call my house, but some of my friends houses got called.

Ugh. I'm glad the day is long gone now.  I'm tired of hearing about how much of a tragedy it is.

It's been 5 years...and every year since that on September 11, there has been a ton of coverage about it on the news.  It gets old.

Why don't they just forget about like the Pope and let him see them.Germans are good people when it comes to Popeishness and towel holidays.Unless of course, everyone has popophobia. Also, everyone in my class is staying home and revolting against our secondary school. But not because of 11/9 (that's how I say it, because it wasn't on the 9th November.) but because of, erm, look at Games:Hot or Not? Board thingy to find out more.I've been to Ground Zero, but all it is is a square, surprisingly neat and tidy pit of tubes.

When I was in high school, most kids stayed home (parents allowed them) because of 9/11. Keep in mind, that this was 1 & 2 years after thefirst 9/11 (2001)

allot of my friends skipped school that day but the thing that sucked was that our school didn't do one thing to help us remember that day.nothing.no ceromony no momment of silence nada.which really pissed me off cause my uncle was in the pentagon on the other side on 9/11 and my cusin is in the war fighting for our country.we didn't do dolphin noise thta day to help us remember all the people who died on that day and all those who died fighting for our country and still are fighting.

Me too.  Yes, 9/11 was a bad thing.  A lot of people died and it's all quite sad.  What can we do to change this?  Nothing.  Remember it, but go on with your life.

OK so we are to go about our day being happy go lucky? And when Saddam was caught his followers cried their @sses off? Even though he had nothing to do with it like good ole Georgie had said Im just trying to give an example. Those people were kamkazi. There mission from their Koran states that you may kill anyone who doesn't believe in your Religion, it will help you become one with Allah. that is a load of bullsh!t. Look passages up out of the Koran. I dont even care if they are happy we are ceying, we need to remember those who died. My cousins friend was a fire fighter and he went to go in and help the people, and they still have not found anything of him. I will choose to remember even if it hurts, i dont care what they think, they are horrible careless people who will burn in hell.

The Koran is derived from the Bible! Why would a holy book say something like that? People falsely construe the Koran to more perfectly fit their ideas, maybe.
