Saw the trailer at Happy Feet. Looks great. Happy Feet was bad, though.

Yah, there are. This and Spider-Man 3 are 2 of the main ones I'm looking forward to.

By the way, there's supposed to be some behind-the-scenes junk for this one on ABC family  when the Prisoner
of Azkaban premieres. Don't know if anyone's interested, just thought I'd mention it.

I'm not so excited, it's just going to be too short. I know they can't make a movie 6 hours long, but they cut way too much out of Goblet of Fire.

That's how I feel. I just wonder why they don't have 'extended versions' on DVD for the enthustiast....pffft

I wouldn't blame the studio. I believe Warner actually intended 2 parts for Goblet of Fire but Mike Newell turned it down.

That's what I want.  I want them to do with Harry Potter what was done with Lord of the Rings.  It's obvious that it would sell well.

Yeah, a directors cut of GOF & most likely the last 3 would be awesome.
I can't wait, OOP was my second favorite HP book, first being POA. :)

Many fans strongly disagree.  They feel that book 7 shouldn't have been released at the same time, because this summer it will suddenly be a whole lot of Harry Potter, then nothing until late '08, and then nothing until summer '10, then nothing else.  Most wanted the 7th book to be released next summer.  Either way it's going to be sad, but back to the movie...

I thought acting looks really good, particularly Bellatrix Lestrange and Luna.  They couldn't have done the real Umbridge unless they brought in a toad to act...

And OMG I'm double posting.  :O

From a filmmakers point of view, that was a smart move. Putting that on screen would look completely ridiculous and crappy, no matter how good the special effects.

Oh yeah a Potter film will NEVER bomb... unless they re-cast Harry, Hermoine &  Ron with different actors.

Speaking of Hermoine, do you guys think Emma Watson will come back to do the last 2 films?  I really hope so.  That would suck if she didn't.  She IS Hermoine.

They didn't film more than is on the dvd's.

I can see why J.K Rowling wants to stop.

They have been butchering it ever since Prisoner of Azkaban.

Since it's getting so close to the release date...

We're going to see this with a bunch of friends at a midnight premiere in IMAX theater.  Normally, I don't follow "release dates" too well... but since school's out I've missed my friends and we're all obsessed with HP... so we had to.

It looks really good, actually.  They've made it seem a lot more dramatic than the others... and the effects look AMAZING.  But still... the fact that it's the shortest movie yet lingers over all the positive things about it... especially since it's the longest book.

In the film maker's defense, the book had a lot of stuff that wouldn't translate well into a movie

We saw it last night at the premiere... it was AMAZING.  Tonks, Bellatrix, and Luna were my favorite characters... perfect casting there.  And the 2 instances of all the glass shattering in the Ministry were great.  I loved how they used short clips from the previous movies in the Occlumency classes... that was great.  But anyways, it is my favorite HP movie now.

I saw at the 11:59 show Tuesday night and it was packed. The movie was really good but of course I came up with all the scenes and little details they missed. I did like Luna better than I imagined her in the book. I didn't think the last scene with Harry and Voldemort would have been like that and Sirius's death was weird. Dumbledore barely explained to Harry what the prophecy meant and how Neville and Trelawney were involved They didn't even include any quidditch but overall I think they did a pretty good job with what they did show. The action was better than the other movies. I liked all the decrees being posted and all the hidden jokes.

not true. They filmed a lot more, but they couldn't fit it in. They took a lot of it out during editing.

I thought it was good. I liked the whole "Umbridge ruining Hogwarts" montage thing they did. My only complaint is how short the fight at the Ministry seemed, but other than that I liked it.
