I think both should be available. Its fine and dandy when someone says " Happy Kwanza" but everyone makes a big deal if the term " Merry Christmas" is used.
Sometimes when I sleep at night I think of (Dr. Seuss's) 'Hop on Pop.'

IAWTC!!!  I have always and will always say "Merry Christmas".  Jews can wish each other a Happy Chanukah, and they can even wish me one for all I care.  As for Kwanzaa, I have never, ever, ever, met anyone who celebrates Kwanzaa. :P

really now... and I'm sure you've heard someone wish you a happy Kwanzaa... You just seem to believe that all your beliefs are being oppressed.

I prefer Happy Holidays. It's the polite route, especially if you don't know what someone celebrates. It's like the Ms. v. Mrs. rule.

If someone prefered "Happy Holidays" I'd surely use it, but everyone seems to be fine with "Merry Christmas" around me.

And whenever someone gets upset about the use of "Merry Christmas"... it's yellow journalism.

Nope me either. I have heard debates about it on television though.

Question: Should the phrase Merry Christmas be banned?
Solution: F*ck off.

Just let people say what they want to say - Happy Kwanza, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays or, A Festivus for the Rest of Us!

What really pisses me off is when people get mad when I say Merry Christmas ON Christmas.

Everyone is entitled to their way of greetings others.

What's silly is people being offended by a phrase which is, at the end of the day, just a plessant greeting.

Personaly I preffer "Happy Hogswatch".

I say Merry X-mas, but I chose Happy Holidays because if your'e at a store you really don't kno0w if the people your'e talking to is Jewish or whatever the heck it is you have to celebrate Kwanzaa. But I've never said Happy Holidays or Happy Kwanzaa/ Chuanakah

What if the person you are adressing dosn't celebrate a holiday at this time of the year?
