I agree with the video card and psu suggestion though. i already have both of them picked out. ill try to get the links up later but ill probably wont get them up till tomorrow.

Mobo suggestion: Gigabyte DS3.  The price is a bit higher, but its stable and overclockable.  If you're not overclocking, any P965 chipset motherboard should be fine, like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813135022

Also, like vulture said, that PSU probably won't do.  Depending on how long you're waiting until you buy, you should check fry's.  They often have Antec case/psu deals for $40 after rebates, with free shipping.  Right now they have one, but without a PSU.

Also, you'll probably be better off getting a single 1gb stick to have more room for future upgrades.
Check out my website, www.spongezone.net... oh, nevermind

for the ram, i was thinking more from the standpoint that since it's valueram (not 200$ for 1gb stuff) that getting 2 sticks might be good incase 1 stick blows up...

if you drop xp and use your current install, downgrade to the 7600gt, you should have loads of money to play with...

if you use something like quick.exe (google it) it should find you XP install cdkey for you. That would let you reinstall with any xp disk (in theory). If you really really want me to, I can test it on my secondary harddrive which is empty right now...

I'm gonna pick out some stuff for you tomorrow that is better than that noisy keyboard, crappy speakers, and everyone-says-its-junk mouse.

O.o I just thunk hard :P

Are you sure you want speakers? It sounds more like you'd want headphones with the games you play....plus i dono if your parents would be mad at you for having speakers...mine were :P

why would you need a modem? lol

I've never seen a new motherboard without an ethernet port...

EDIT: You're using some term wrong in that post...lol...do you mean a wireless card so it'll connect to your router?

The modem is the little box that the internet comes into your house and plugs into...and then it goes to your router via ethernet cable...and then to your computer :)

EDIT2: I'm on AIM and MSN if you wanna talk...just come on and I'll talk :)

Original Post:

3 of your original picks:

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819115005
HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822144415
RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145568

You may not like some of the choices I made, but this is what I'd get with that money...

MOBO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813121056
I figure, for you, that going microatx might give you a smaller, spacesaving case. Plus it saves on power draw from the PSU anyways

Video Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150182
We already talked about this...the 7600GT is a way better buy for the money over the 7900GS

Burner: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827151141
Using the audio hookups on the back of cd drives is useless and obsolete nowadays, so why not go with a nice SATA burner? They're 10$ more, but quiet and have less cable clutter. It'll look nicer inside the window : )

Case + PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811144161
Just plain sexy imo....lol

And that's 700$ right there...

For the mouse, I'd actually goto a store and find one that's comfortable in your hand and grab it. A bad 5$ mouse could wreck a hand for life  I suggest one of microsoft's simple optical mice....they're godly.

KB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16823107120
As far as keyboards go, this is one of my favorites

Headset: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16826265009
and headphones...hmmm...these aren't bad for the price...

Alright this was the video card I was looking at
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814143049
I don't like that mobo because it doesn't have two pci express slots.
I need to think long and hard about the burner.
I want a tower case cause thats all Ill have room for.
Love the keyboard.
Also need to think about the headset.
I already have one so I don't think Ill need another one.

Oh and I am talking about the "little box that the internet comes into your house and plugs into...and then it goes to your router via ethernet cable...and then to your computer"

And yes I'll get on msn.

Edit:
get on msn
Oh and Im probably gonna get this case with a different psu.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811156043
And if not that one then probably one from these lists
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?Brand=8791&N=2000090007+50008791&Submit=ENE&Manufactory=8791&SubCategory=7
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?Brand=1622&N=2000090007+50001622&Submit=ENE&Manufactory=1622&SubCategory=7

second edit:
I do need another mobo this one has 2 pci slots but you can only use one at a time which I see as a waste.
But I do want one with 2 pci express X16 slots.

3rd edit:
Need help badly choosing a new mobo
and need to understand.

If a mobo is sli ready
2 pci express slots
but both of them are x8
x8

could that support my graphics card?
