Is Nickelodeon going too far with Spongebob?

Is Nickelodeon going too far?

as you may have noticed, Nickelodeon has gone very far in Interactive Spongebob Specials. Like, The SB Friend or Foe "Foedown" on MeTV. I do not really think this started before the movie. Or like, a few months ago they had the Larry vs Patrick election. When did the madness start??? If they intend to keep SB a popular show, Nick needs to remember that adults as well as kids like the show. You all know what I am talking about. There are probably many adults that belong to this site, that come here to disscuss SB issues and events, news and other things Spongebob. To keep viewers interested, they should definetly lay off on the big events.

Please give me feedback on this topic. ^.^ thanks.

Two words: New writers. As soon as the old writers left, the show went downhill.
April Fool: I'm the April Fool. What's up with that?
Timmy: It's official, this guy sucks. I wish he was somewhere else!
*Poof!*
Timmy: Where'd you guys poof him to?

April Fool: I never asked for this!
Jorgen: Shut up, or I'll have Chuck Norris roundhouse kick you in the face again!

Not the entire show. Beginning of season 4 was pretty bad and only a few episodes later on shouldn't have ever been made. The latter of season 4 has been improving greatly and it's almost like season 2 or season 3 comedy.

I agree! Spongebob is a great show and very popular, but whenever Nick overrates a new episode of Spongebob now and we think it's going to be great, it just ends up being an average or terrible episode. Friend or Foe was about average. I don't get it. When Spongebob aired episodes from 1999-2004, they didn't over-rate or expose the new episodes too much.

Nick is overdoing with Spongebob. They make every Spongebob episode shorter to make way for commercial and make the humor more scatologic at times because of those writers.

Banshee is correct: the season 4 and 5 episodes are shorter by about 15-20 seconds.  Few of them hit 11 minutes.  The first two episodes of the 4th season (Fear of a Krabby Patty/Shell of a Man) are an exception: Fear of a Krabby Patty was well over 11 minutes.

I like big events and merchandise if they're for a good show, but Spongebob isn't a good show ANYMORE!

All time worst: Best Day Ever.  Screwed up countdown leading to a screwed up episode.
I liked the countdown. It had sooo many episodes...

Though the episode was terrible. It felt like Dora the Explorer or Bob the Builder. It felt more like it was trying to treat 3 year olds than the 8-17 crowd. Yeah, eight through SEVENTEEN. My Dad's overprotective, so he wont be letting me switch to Family Guy until I'm exactly that old.

I honestly think Nick should can SB after this season. The original creative fire and fanfare it used to have simply isn't there anymore. They shouldn't let SB become another Rugrats (then again SB hasn't even come close to sinking as low as Dil-era Rugrats yet). After cancelling the show they'll get 2 or 3 (or even more) years of reruns and an almost guaranteed spot on Nicktoons Network probably forever.

No matter whats happens though SpongeBob is gonna be immortal on the greatness of those first 3 seasons alone, just like Rugrats is still revered for it's pre-movie run. I wouldn't worry too much about it's future, the writers and creators are gonna be living comfortably for a while now just on that.
