I had sex ed in 5th grade. We have to realize that these children are growing up in a sex oriented world. It's out there for anyone who wants it, honestly. So I say give three year olds condoms if you have to, as long as the point is getting across.

It shouldn't be offered at all, because kids shouldn't be having sex at 11 years old. They are in what, 5th grade?
Good point.

While we're at it, let's stop letting people under 18 buy things to quit smoking. I mean, they shouldn't be smoking if they're not 18.

hell, why even let them have abortions if they're not married? I mean, they shouldn't be having sex without being able to support a family...

I love how everyone is out to contradict me at this forum.

Sometimes when I sleep at night I think of (Dr. Seuss's) 'Hop on Pop.'

I had one sex-ed class in 4th grade which lasted about a half hour to an hour. It was just a videotape where they talked about puberty and stuff like that.

Never had sex-ed, never got a sex talk.

*Totally read that as 'I Had sex in 5th grade" at first*

But anyhow.
Are kids even physically ABLE to re produce at 11?

I thought not...

And same here, Liz.

Oh my gosh.. I can hardly remember. Oh yeah! It was the summer before seventh grade. So I was 12. Jeez. Haha, I was petrified. When I told my mom for some reason she was like really excited.

Okay, this is NOT the "when did you first get your period" thread.
But, I first got mine at Boy Scout camp last year.

I was so embarrassed.
