It was pretty good.  I'd say 7 or 8/10

You can tell the writers/producers put their full energy into this one.  I confess to having been a bit nervous when I saw who the writers were....

Too much singing (the songs themselves weren't necessarily bad, just too much of it.)  The plot was nothing super inspired.  Too much Patchy.

But there were a lot of good scenes.  The video game sequence was indeed very clever.  The scene when SB and Patrick are with the bubble was great.  So we end up with a pretty good episode, not an outstanding one.

I dunno, parts of it were okay, but some of it (other than the singing) just didn't sit well with me. I think it would have been better if they would have just centered it around SpongeBob and Patrick, instead of sucking in all the other main characters who just sort of seemed to be conveniently located at the right place at the right time. I also think they should have done away with the whole "Plankton unlocks a whole room of weapons and tries to kill everyone" plot, which, to be quite frank, seems like something I would've written when I was like ten. I will give it that some of the song segments were kind of cool, but more because of the animation than because of the singing.

The animation was good, especially the part when the step inside the bus, which was made in 3D. Also, Mr. Krab's money scene, the videogame scene, etc. were well-animated. But it's on again now, and there's Patchy scenes in it, which ruinrs the whole point of the cartoon... to be completely animated.

In my opinion, this was ONE OF THE WORST EPISODES OF ALL TIME! All the advertisements claimed that the main plot involved Patrick popping the bubble, including the back of the DVD. But that didn't happen until the very end! Apparently Viacom KNEW that this was a pointless episode, and they wanted to make the plot sound interesting and epic. This was NOT worthy of a TV movie, it wasn't even worthy of a ten minute episode! Atlantis Squarepantis isn't even a good NAME! The songs were good, and I mean that they sounded nice, not that they had good writing. The advertisements ruined the ending, the plot wasn't exciting and adventurous like a movie should be, and it wasn't well-written at all. I'd rather have Where's Gary A.K.A Have You Seen This Snail been boosted up to the length of an hour.

THE HORRIBLE WRITING!
The fact that the advertisements ruined the ending.
The plot wasn't epic/adventurous/exciting

Three good things, three bad things. The bad things are so bad, however, that they ruin the good things. Atlantis Squarepantis gets 1/10 in my book.
