News About New Dvds
« on: July 10, 2003, 09:36:49 pm »
There are apparently 3 more SpongeBob DVDs coming out this year.  The first is the Tide and Seek DVD, coming out on July 29th.  According to www.dvdtoons.com the episodes on it will be Mermaidman & Barnacleboy III, Big Pink Loser, Opposite Day, Squirrel Jokes, Rock-A-Bye Bivalve, Dumped, Bossy Boots, The Bully, Sleepy Time, and Squidsville.  The next DVD coming out is SpongeBob SquarePants: Christmas, featuring Christmas Who?, Procrastination, Snowball Effect, Survival of the Idiots, Mermaidman & Barnacleboy IV, Chocolate With Nuts, As Seen on TV, Krusty Krab Pizza, and Squeaky Boots.  That looks like a really awesome DVD to me.  According to www.dvdtoons.com it is going to be released on August 30th.  Also, a DVD called SpongeBob SquarePants: Season One is going to be released in early October according to www.digitalbits.com.  If it really is the entire season one, that will be the greatest piece of plastic ever created!

I knew about those two DVDs before, but I forgot to post a new update about them.  I just decided to post them all when I heard about the 3rd one.

I did... it says something like "Spongbob Squarepants: Season 1 July 11, 2003 (05:58am) Reported by: Anthony
Hold on to your nickels and dimes, because Paramount is getting ready to release the first complete season of Spongebob Squarepants!
All we were able to get from Paramount was that this rumor is true. There are no details at the moment, but stay tOOned for further details..." I think

It's most likely going to be a 3 or 4 DVD set.

Foulpattie, there are 20 30-minute "episodes", but there are actually 40 11-minute cartoons.  They would probably use 4 DVDs.

Based on the cover art box pictures on spongebob area, spongebob online, and tv shows on dvd it's going be a 3 disc set.  Things could change, but why would they? I wonder what the 90 min of extras are going to be. That's going to be the biggest selling point of the set since Nick should know that most people have taped the episodes off tv by now. I want to see them make (mock) cartoon outtakes, like Squidward messing up a line or something!
