I only use notepad for my html needs. I don't think I'll ever bother with flash. People should keep their sites nice and simple so there are no problems navigating. Unless of course you want to make games. Thats allright. You shouldn't base your entire site on flash. Or java for that matter. And I'm not even sure if every browser handles flash in the same way. Could be a bit tricky for visitors.

im not making a site with flash, i just like maming cartoons, homestarrunner.com is a flash website, and they get thousands of visitors a day!

I've used flash before.  It's cool for simple games and movies and stuff, and it *can* be good for some websites, but its horrible for most.  Nick.com is an example of a bad flash site.  Homestarrunner is an example of a good flash site.
