The spring E3 is going on right now, and every major publisher/developer is showcasing something.  Nintendo is showing off it's next handheld, the DS.  THQ has announced that they are working on a SpongeBob game for it.  That could be interesting, SpongeBob on two screens...

Yea, I want to see some gameplay videos of the PSP.  I'm actually considering getting one of those instead of another Pocket PC.  The problem with Pocket PCs is that they are not designed from the ground up for gaming, unless of course Microsoft follows through with its new directx plans, and handheld makers put those new Nvidia and ATI mobile chips in thier products.  Anyway, the only problem I see with the PSP is that it uses a proprietary format.  There is no way to produce your own disks for it to use, which limits the uses of the PSP to what Sony wants you to use it for.

I'm expecting the PSP to start beating up Nintendo in the handheld department.

Yea, the way I see it happening is that people who have the money will go for the PSP, while people who don't will buy the SP, which will probably drop to around $60 or so by the time DS comes out.  Unless Nintendo has some killer app for the DS, I can't see it succeeding.   Nintendo has been known to surprise though, so maybe they have the equivalent of a Halo for the DS.

There is no such thing as peace and there never will be. Peace is a delusion believed by the weak. Gandhi said : "An eye of an eye would leave the whole world blind". So be it because only a blind world can experience the peace that it deserves. But there in lay the sick irony. Who will be able to see this peace? The human species is at war. The enemy walks among us nearly invisible. Only those with true discernment can see them. But only one with discernment and vision can show them to others

DS is Bluetooth compatible, not Wifi.  PSP is Wifi, which is nice.

It's not like a portable gamecube. It's like a portable N64 but with a bit better graphics. I have a feeling the battery life will be pretty short for the psp and ds.

Ds is like a portable N64 and the PSP is like a Portable PS2. I still don't understand what the purpose of the two screens is.

Nintendo has always been about creativity, and two screens is certainly creative.  I think the battery life and size issues will kill it though.
