Catholic Democrat?
« on: September 25, 2004, 08:07:14 pm »
I just found out that there actually are some Catholics who vote Democratic.  I don't understand it.  How can anyone who is Roman Catholic be a Democrat because everything the Catholic Church stands for is anti-Democratic.

Because not everyone is you. People do not base all their beliefs on RELIGION. Otherwise, this world would be crazy.

MSP, you just don't get it. Some people vote for John Kerry because George Bush is a moron. The election has nothing to do with religon.

Starr2k3 it's all about religion if you are religious the Pope strictly said not to support a candidate who supports abortion and what not.  And not supporting definetly means not voting for!  In '00, if Bush would had gotten more than just 70 something percent of the popular vote from Catholics, he could have won the election without Florida!

Starr2k3 already pointed out that the election has nothing to do with religion. That's exactly why he won with Florida. -_-

The Bishops wanted to deny him Communion for supporting abortion.  That is a new law that is being passed.  All politicians who support Abortion shall be denied Holy Communion!

This is a load of BS. I think Religion should only govern your way of life, not your political views.

It's not a law, it's religious.

MSP, will you ever just accept that the fact that religion has never and will never have anything to do with the US law?
