Topic: Are You An Old Testement Or New Testement Guy?

While the Old Testement says "If someone hits you, you hit 'em back', or an eye for an eye sort of deal.  The New Testement is a turn the other cheek love thy enemies forgive people more sort of thing.  That is what I mean which philosopy do you like more.  I'm a New Testement kinda guy, but human nature is Old Testement type from the beginning of time mostly.  When Jesus said turn the other cheek, he wasn't saying self-defense is againt the bible, some people try to interpret it like this, and that is ridicolous.  He ment if someone slaps you out of anger, don't hit them back.  show forgiveness.  He doesn't mean if someone is punching you senceless don't hit back.

I like a little bit of both. I like the stories and poetic sense of the Old Testament, but I love the teaching of the New Testament. Not to mention the New Testament has the book of Revelations.

The new testament is there for history and tells stories about Gods power. The cool thing is, we are not under that law anymore...then comes the new (which also tells of Gods power). I like both.

I'm a little bit of both. I mean I want to follow what Jesus says and all, and all the miracles and adventures and teachings he had, but I also want to know how God's people felt before Jesus, how the world was made, and how sin and death came to Earth.
