Being Yourself...
« on: June 16, 2005, 06:11:53 am »
Don't you think that being yourself is the most important thing in life? To me it is...dont ever try to be someone your not because it could possibly make you unhappy...and believe me I have been through that phase of being someone I wasn't...and in my opinion...I wasnt happy. I think that if you like somethings or different hobbies that know one else likes...tuff...you like whatever you want and dont listen to anyone else...be true to yourself.

I would like to hear your opinions about this   thanks

As far as Im concerned, nobody cares about individuality anymore.
It is almost non-existant.
Being yourself can be the best thing you can ever do, following someone is just childish and stupid.
Thats why we are a humiliating species, we HAVE to follow something. *slaps head*

individualty exists in my skool , but most of the people who do it are consider geeks, and really they are! lol me and my friend(who just moved to Jordan and i will never see again:( )acted like complete idiots and always made people laugh. i mean we were lower class and losers in the begginging of the year, but for being oueselves we somehow became popular, kinda weird and cool. i didnt act like a complete jerk tho. i still made fun of the stupid loser jordan nixon ho was a freakin nazi upsessed god freak and cried all the time, not to mention tried to hang out with us and if rejected starting threating to murder us all and then cried. man i hated that kid, and best of all, he lives down the street form me!!! :(

People say to me: "I wish you would stop being so different, it's spooky."

I love being different, although I hate too much attention....individuality is becomming rare with constant urges to be popular and such.

This is so sadly true.  In fact just talking about being individual could be considered a trend.

but event this whoel thing of "individuality" is done cos society says that we have to be unique
for alot of people, being a sheep and copying everyone that is cool, is who they are, they are followers
we need followers, they run the factories and become police officers

"Being yourself" has almost become a fad.
Everyone is trying to be their own person, so being yourself and declaring it makes you part of the trend.

I guess my point is that if you're going to be yourself, then just do it and don't go around saying "I'm just being me" or whatever.

I know I'm gonna get a lot of crap for this, but it's just my observation.

I'm not going to doubt anyone's individuality, because everyone IS an individual.

What I mean is that "being yourself" just for the sake of "being yourself" is stupid.  Recently it's become a bandwagon thing.

Individuality is cool, and I respect anyone who is an individual, unless of course they try to let the whole world know by just saying "HEY LOOK, I'M AN INDIVIDUAL."

Punk is not dead, it just smells like it.

Anyways, as far as style, its all been done before. It doesnt matter how you dress, some else is doing it too. Its really your mind that is original.
